Minecraft Hypixel Mini Game

Bedwars

By ThunderBolt832

Part 1 – A Long Explanation

THUNDERBOLT832 appeared with a pop in the Prototype Lobby, and looked around him.

Beside him, the_derpster365, Surge204, and Epicraft426 stood waiting.

“Hey guys!” ThunderBolt said with a grin. “How’s it going?”

“Wow!” He exclaimed, not waiting for an answer. “This place is awesome!”

Epicraft nodded. “I bet they put a lot of time into building it, just like they do for everything else!”

“So…” said Surge. “What are we gonna play today?” he asked, turning to look at the four NPCs that stood on tall wooden pillars behind him.

“I think it’s about time we try out this new Bedwars game.” decided Epicraft, and the others nodded.

“Fine,” said the_derpster, his voice taking on a slightly grumpy tone. “But we are going to do Murder Mystery next!”

The others shrugged. “Whatever,” said ThunderBolt, grinning.

Turning, the four players walked over to the pyjama-dressed NPC.

“Ready?” asked Epicraft, turning as the others nodded. “Three, two, one, go!”

As he finished speaking, the four friends stepped forward together and touched the NPC, causing them to disappear in four bright flashes.

ThunderBolt opened his eyes and looked about him.

He was lying on a small bed that sat at the middle of a floating island. One half of the island was roofed, and had stairs descending into a slight cave.

As he climbed off the bed to get a better view, he heard a pop, and Epicraft appeared beside him, followed by Surge and the_derpster.

Each of them (ThunderBolt included) was wearing a set of dark-blue leather armour, which ThunderBolt supposed was meant to look like pyjamas.“Wow!” Exclaimed Surge, his eyes quickly taking in the scene around him. “This looks epic!”

The_derpster shrugged. “I guess,” he muttered. “But Murder Mystery would have been better.”

Epicraft nodded. “I think it looks just a bit too much like skywars,” he said with a grin. “But it’s still cool.”

Suddenly there was a series of loud pops, and the four friends turned to see two villagers appear on opposite sides of the cave-like room.

Turning, they walked forward and examined the two NPCs.

“Hello!” one of them cried, causing the team to jump back in alarm. “Welcome to Bedwars, blue team!”

“My name is Item Shop,” continued the villager. “And this,” he said, turning to his companion, who nodded in approval, “Is Team Upgrades!”

The four shared a glance. “Uh…” said the_derpster, not sure how to begin. “Don’t you think your names are a little bit… weird?”

Item Shop gasped. “And yours are-” he began angrily, then his head sagged and he nodded. “Yes. Yes, it is.” he said sadly.

“So…” began Epicraft. “What are we supposed to do?”

The villager nodded, his long bulbous nose wobbling from side to side. “The main objective of the game,” he explained, “is to protect your team’s bed. If you die, you will respawn back at your base. But, if your bed is destroyed, then you will not respawn.”

“So we’re supposed to destroy all the other teams beds?” asked Surge.

Item Shop nodded, then continued explaining. “Over here,” he said, nodding his head towards a pile of gold and iron that was beginning to collect at the far side of the cave, “Is where your resources come from. On the islands where players spawn, only gold and iron appear. On other islands, diamonds can occasionally be found, and, at the very centre island, is where my personal favourite item spawns: emeralds!”

Team Upgrades protested loudly. “Hey! That’s my personal favourite item!” He exclaimed angrily.

Item Shop rolled his eyes. “No, it was your’s last time!” he yelled, making the four players flinch slightly. “You can have diamonds!”

ThunderBolt scratched his head, stepping forward between the villagers just in time. “Um…” he said, just managing to stop the two NPCs from beginning a fight. “So, what are we supposed to do with the resources we get? Can we craft armour and weapons with them?”

The villager shook his head, and stepped back into his former position calmly. “Crafting is unavailable in this game, so rather than making items, you give the resources to me and Team Upgrades. In return, we will give you blocks to build or protect your bed with, swords, pickaxes, armour, potions, team perks, and other special items that will help you win!”

“Can’t you just give us the items?” Surge put in questioningly. “You, know, like, for free?”

Item Shop considered this. “Yeah…” he said thoughtfully. “I suppose I could…”

Team Upgrades growled in annoyance. “We talked about this!” He said in an angry voice. “With the last team, remember? They almost won because of you!”

Item Shop rolled his eyes. “It’s only because of you that they didn’t!” he exclaimed. “I was on the verge of becoming famous, when you destroyed their bed and pushed them all into the void!”

His fellow villager shushed him loudly. “Sssshhhhh!” he whispered furiously, then turned to the four slightly alarmed players. “You didn’t hear any of that, did you?” he asked.

“Not a word,” said the_derpster, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Good!” Grinned Team Upgrades, then returned to his original spot. “I suggest that you four start getting materials and other things!” he said in his monotone voice. “You definitely won’t win, or even have a chance if you are as slow as this!”

Instantly, the team sprang into action.

Stepping down into the shallow pit where a great pile of gold and iron was building up, ThunderBolt collected all the available iron, leaving the gold for someone else.

Turning to Item Shop, he exchanged half of the iron in return for a stack of blue wool and handed it to Epicraft, who began bridging off towards one of the nearby islands with a diamond spawner on it.

Using the other half of the iron, he turned back to the villager and bought sixteen pieces of endstone to protect their bed with.

Hurrying forward, he began placing the yellowy block around the bed, giving it a temporary protection from other teams.

Behind him, the_derpster purchased a bunch of swords, three iron and one stone. Turning, he handed one to ThunderBolt, the stone one to Surge, who was collecting gold for a bow, and turned to look for Epicraft.

“Here ya go, mate!” exclaimed a voice from behind him, Epicraft’s. He turned just as his friend dumped a load of diamonds beside him, took the iron sword from his hand, and began adding a layer of wool over the smaller coat of endstone.

“Epicraft?” asked ThunderBolt as his friend finished placing wool. “Can you and Surge stay behind and protect the bed? Derpster’s going for the middle, and I’m going to try and destroy the Green Team’s bed. We just need you two to stay and protect-”

Epicraft nodded, then picked up the pile of diamonds he had left on the ground beside the_derpster. “Yeah, sure.” he said, stopping ThunderBolt in the middle of a sentence. “I suppose someone should stay behind, and two is better than one. Good luck guys!”

Nodding in satisfaction, the_derpster began bridging off towards the centre island, and ThunderBolt started off down the bridge Epicraft had built toward the Green Team’s island, the thought of victory filling his mind.

Part 2 – On The Centre Island

THE_DERPSTER365 jumped off the wool bridge he had built, and looked up at the emerald tier on the hill above him.

Hurriedly climbing the staircase up the hill, he stopped and looked at the rotating emerald block that hovered above the slight indent in the ground where two emeralds lay. Bending down, he picked up the two green jewels and stuffed them into his inventory.

Jumping off the ledge onto the ground below, he hurried forward and took the emeralds from the second tier.

A slight noise came from behind him, and he rolled forward as the sound of a sword clanging against stone came to his ears.

Spinning around, he drew his iron sword and blocked an attack from a stone sword.

Pushing the user back, the_derpster got a good look at him.

He was covered in a set of yellow leather armour, a shining stone sword held in his hand. He had blackey-brown hair showing from underneath his yellow cap, the name: Enderslayer603, showing above his head.

The right of his body seemed to be taken over with some kind of disease that had turned it a purply-black, similar to that of an enderman. His left eye was a peculiar rustic red, but his right was even worse.

It had no visible pupil, and the rest of the eye (well, all of it) was an undiluted, glowing purple.

Sprinting forward, the_derpster leaped into the air and brought his sword down hard. Enderslayer blocked it easily, then spun around and attempted another attack, only to be forced back towards the edge of the island.

Ducking under a vicious slash, the_derpster gave the yellow-clad player a push, making him lose his balance as his sword plummeted down into the void.

Reaching deep into his inventory, he pulled out a fish and threw it, hitting his opponent in the face and knocking him into the misty void with a scream.

“Waste of a good fish,” he muttered, staring into the mist below the world as his fish disappeared into it forever.

Looking up, he noticed the bridge of yellow wool that his opponent had used to get to the centre island, and an idea popped into his head.

Building upwards until he was level with the bridge, he hurried forward, checking the nearby islands for dangers. There was none, yet.

Walking hurriedly forward, the_derpster noticed with surprise that nothing covered the Yellow Team’s bed, not even wool.

Leaping down onto the Yellow Team’s island, he hurried forward, pulled out this pickaxe, and hammered away at the bed, breaking it with three easy swings.

A shout came from the cave ahead of him; he had been spotted, but it didn’t matter. He had destroyed the Yellow Team’s bed!

Lifting his gaze, he saw the entire Yellow Team advancing towards him out of the cave, two holding swords, while the other two pointed bows at him.

Running forward, he dodged an arrow from BirdGirl193, deflected another from Mitten1997, and ducked under Enderslayer’s enchanted iron sword.

Spinning around behind Enderslayer, he kicked the yellow-clad player off the island and into the void.

He paused a moment to watch his opponent disappear, then out the corner of his eye he saw Hermie304 preparing an attack.

Leaping nimbly out the way of an arrow, he blocked an attack from Hermie, then knocked him off the island with a kick to the stomach.

An arrow caught him in the back of the leg and he gritted his teeth in pain. Turning around, he tried to advance towards the two players, but they began to spam arrows at him (meaning they fired them rapidly), and he was forced to place a protective wall of wool to shield himself.

From behind the pillar of wool, he never really saw what happened. He only knew what he heard.

There was the sound of an explosion, a huge blossom of fire, a massive wave of heat that he could feel even through his woollen shield, the sounds of crackling flames as they engulfed something, and then silence.

Cautiously he got up, and peered around the side of the pillar.

Nobody was there.

Looking around in surprise, he carefully searched all the possible hiding places on the island, but nobody was there.

Your welcome, mate! Exclaimed a voice in his head, and he jumped in fright.

On the far island with a diamond tier on it, the one to the right of their island, Epicraft stood waving at him, holding another fire charge in his hand.

You did that?  The_derpster asked through the chat, surprise ringing in his voice.

From his view on the late Yellow Team’s island, he just saw Epicraft nod, a huge grin faintly visible on his far away face.

Suddenly, and without warning, a huge jolt of pain shot through him. Looking down, he could see a diamond sword protruding through his chest, shining brightly with enchantments.

His eyes clouded over as he saw the faint form of Epicraft gasp in shock and horror, and a pair of wicked looking eyes that glowed white appear in front of him.

Then the darkness took him, and he knew no more.

Part 3 – Green Team

THUNDERBOLT832 pulled out his second stack of wool and continued bridging towards the Green Team’s island.

Looking up, he noticed the large mound of green wool surrounding the Green Team’s bed for the first time, probably at least three or four layers thick.

Oh well, wool was easy to mine. It wouldn’t be a problem. Probably.

Something out the corner of his eye caught his attention, and he turned to look at a green-clad player staring at him from the centre island.

A moment later, a fireball smashed into the woollen bridge directly where he had been standing a moment before, incinerating the blocks it had hit in a blossom of fire.

Still trying to take in what had happened, ThunderBolt took a quick glance at his enemy, only to see another fireball flying through the air towards him.

Ducking under the second fire charge, he saw with horror that a second player from the Green Team had joined his companion and was launching fireballs even faster than his teammate.

Hurriedly placing a protective wall of wool in an attempt to stop the barrage of dangerous projectiles, ThunderBolt hurried back along the bridge, in an effort to escape a fiery death.

Suddenly a fireball slammed into the bridge in front of him, causing him to step back, away from the terrific heat of the explosion and towards a safer spot.

A second fireball followed this, causing the gap between the bridge to the diamond-tier island and the small platform he was on to widen until it was impossible to jump across.

Boom!

Half of the woollen wall he had built to protect himself disappeared in an instant as another fireball exploded on it, uncovering him immediately.

Shielding his face from the heat of the explosion, he stepped back and placed a couple more blue wool blocks to give himself room.

Desperation began to show on his face as he dodged each fire charge as they came at him. How could he survive? How could he defeat them? He had no ranged weapon he could shoot at them, no projectile he could throw, nothing except his pickaxe and his-

An idea suddenly popped into his blocky head, and he pulled out his sword and held it up in front of him.

The next time a fireball was launched at him, he waited until it was almost upon him, then swung his sword like a cricket bat, deflecting it back towards his two opponents.

The two green-clothed players watched him in amazement, as if they could not believe their own eyes.

As the fireball flew towards the two, one of them managed to dodge out the way, but the other one stood transfixed. A moment later, the fire charge slammed into him, engulfing him in a fiery blossom of smoke and flame.

Spinning around, the green-clad player launched two more fire charges in quick succession, straight towards his opponent.

Gritting his teeth, ThunderBolt deflected the first projectile with a hefty swing, sending it flying off in a random direction, but the second caught him unawares.

Booooooooommmmmmmm!

Most of the force of the explosion was taken by his sword, sending it windmilling out of his arms and down into the misty unknowns of the void.

A leering, evil grin spread across his opponent’s face; ThunderBolt was now completely defenceless, barely even able to move to avoid them on the small platform of wool.

Continuing his attack, the green-clothed player continued to launch fire charges at his helpless prey until there was nothing left but a single wool block, this with ThunderBolt on it.

“I have you now,” he muttered, then launched his final fireball.

ThunderBolt closed his eyes as it drew closer; nothing would stop it now.

The sound of a second fireball reached his ears, and he opened his eyes just in time to see it intercept the first, causing them both to explode just meters away from his face.

A third fire charge was launched from the diamond-tier island ThunderBolt had been trying to escape to. It flew straight through the air towards the centre island, directly towards the green-clad player.

ThunderBolt looked on in amazement as his enemy was engulfed in an explosion of flame and smoke, leaving absolutely nothing behind.

Turning around cautiously, he looked up to see Epicraft waving at him from the diamond-tier island, a huge grin on his face.

Thanks! ThunderBolt sent through the chat, returning his teammate’s grin with vigour.

No problem whatsoever, mate! Was Epicraft’s reply.

Pulling the remains of his last stack of wool from his inventory, ThunderBolt first built a safe path back to the diamond-tier, then continued bridging towards the Green Team’s island, checking every few moments for dangers.

Eventually he reached his destination, and looked down onto the island, searching for any possible dangers.

A noise came from the entrance to the cave; the entire Green Team was inside, busy doing something unknown.

Jumping down onto the island as quietly as he could, he silently ran across to the mound of wool that protected the Green Team’s bed.

Quickly hammering away at one of the green woollen blocks, ThunderBolt broke it with three easy swings.

The second layer inside the mound was made of endstone; that was too bad, but it took longer to mine than wool.

As he finished destroying the pale yellow block, a shout came from inside the cave, one that made him swing his pickaxe with even more vigour.

He had been spotted.

Lifting his pickaxe, he prepared to destroy the bed, and then stepped back in alarm. There was a layer of wood beneath the layer of endstone!

Reaching forward, he began to hammer away at the wooden block with all his strength, causing faint cracks to appear in it.

Suddenly an arrow flew over his head, causing him to duck momentarily, but still continuing to hammer away at the block of wood.

A pickaxe embedded itself in his die, and he gritted his teeth in pain.

Come on! He thought desperately, trying to ignore the pain as more players started to attack him. I’m almost there!

With a last, final effort, he lifted his pickaxe and brought it down hard on the block, using such great strength that not only did it destroy the wooden block, but also the bed underneath.

With every nerve on his body alight, he fell backwards off the island. The pickaxe fell from his grasp and his eyes clouded over as he disappeared into the void.

Part 4 – Hacker

THUNDERBOLT awoke slowly, his mind still filled with the memories of the pain he had endured to destroy the enemies’ bed.

With a groan, he attempted to sit up, but his strength failed him, and he fell back. Rolling onto his side, his eyes widened as the bed gave a sickening lurch, tipped, and dropped him onto the grass.

Groggily sitting up, he looked up at the bed, then realised that it was covered in several blocky layers of protection, and he could not even see it at all.

“How on-” he muttered questioningly, then, shaking his head in confusion and amazement, he got to his feet as his head cleared.

Before him stood the_derpster, an iron sword holding his weight as he leant on it, and a gram expression on his normally derpy face.

“I see we shared the same experience?” He asked, adjusting his position on the shiny metal sword.

“You died too?” ThunderBolt asked with surprise.

His friend nodded, then opened his mouth to speak. “I got to the centre island and collected several emeralds.” He explained. “Then I got attacked by a yellow guy, I killed him, got to his island, destroyed the Yellow Team’s bed, and, with some help from Epicraft, we eliminated them all.”

ThunderBolt nodded as he took in what had happened. “But how did you die?” he asked.

The_derpster shuddered violently. “Someone got me from behind, and I fell into the void. It felt pretty bad, I can tell you!”

ThunderBolt nodded his blocky head again, then a thought struck him from before. “Do you remember anything happening between falling into the void and respawning?” He asked, scratching his head.

The_derpster frowned. “That’s funny, because I did!” He exclaimed. “After I died, or whatever, I remember being able to float, and run really fast, and none of you guys could see me. It was really weird… wait, it happened to you as well?!”

Suddenly Item Shop popped up beside them. “That’s called spectating,” he explained in his monotone voice. “It can be useful, because you can see what other teams are doing, but it normally only lasts for a few seconds before you respawn.”

ThunderBolt shivered. “After I died,” he said. “I saw this misty island, exactly like ours, but with a red flag, rather than a blue one. On it was a huge mound covered in wool, and a team of players dressed in red leather armour. They all had diamond leggings and boots on, and diamond swords. They looked unbeatable!”

He paused a moment as he shuddered again, then continued. “One of them looked like a steve, but had glowing white eyes. One was completely black, except for his eyes, which glowed white as well. One wore a white cloak, and had red eyes with yellow pupils.”

Epicraft popped up beside the_derpster and Item Shop, who were both listening intently. “What was the last guy like?” He asked inquiringly.

“He was the weirdest of all,” said ThunderBolt. “He had no real body features, and was just solid white. He was able to walk through the air, and shoot arrows really fast!”

Team Upgrades gasped from his position in the cave. “A hacker!” he exclaimed, shuddering as he said the dreaded word.

“What can we do?” asked Surge as he appeared between Epicraft and ThunderBolt. “If their team has a hacker, then what can we do?”

Item Shop’s nose twitched as he grinned. “The hacker’s the easy part,” he explained. “You can just report him, and some huge monster called the watchdog comes down and eats them! I’ve seen it happen before!”

The_derpster nodded. “I know. You just type /wdr-”

Suddenly, out of the misty fog floated a red-clad player, a diamond sword held in his white hand. Leaping down onto the island, he ran forward and punched one of the woollen blocks that protected their bed with his bare fist, causing it to break in an instant.

Reaching forward, he broke through the last two layers with ease, and, before anyone could stop him, destroyed their bed.

Ducking under Epicraft’s sword, the hacker blocked an attack from ThunderBolt, kicked Epicraft towards the edge of the island, and dodged an arrow from Surge.

Floating back up into the air under the overwhelming attacks, the player pulled out an enchanted bow, fitted an arrow to the bowstring, and aimed directly at ThunderBolt.

Without warning, a massive mouth appeared out of the misty sky, closed around the hacker in an instant, and slowly disappeared back into the mist.

As the three friends watched in shock, the_derpster stepped forward triumphantly. “I told you,” he said proudly. “Reporting is easy, and very, very satisfying.”

“But he destroyed our bed!” Epicraft pointed out. “That’s not satisfying! We’re not gonna survive very long without a bed, especially with all that stuff ThunderBolt saw the Red Team with!”

ThunderBolt’s eyes hardened. “Then there’s only one thing we can do.” he said, his expression clearly showing he had a plan.

“What?” Surge inquired.

“We,” explained ThunderBolt. “Are going on a little stealth attack. On the Red Team.”

Part 5 – Stealth Attack

ARMED with potions of invisibility and leaping, sharpened iron swords, diamond pickaxes, fireballs, and iron armour, the Blue Team slowly advanced across the centre island.

Peering cautiously over a ledge, ThunderBolt noted that there were three bridges to the red island: plenty of both entrances and exits.

“Okay guys,” he whispered, turning to his crouching teammates. “We’ve only got one chance at this. When you drink your potions, you’ll only have invisibility for thirty seconds, and leaping a little longer than that.”

“To each other,” he continued. “Our armour won’t be invisible, but to our enemies, the only thing they can see is our items, so make sure you don’t hold anything in your hands until you’re on the island. Also, if you take damage, you will lose your invisibility.”

“Epicraft,” he said, turning to his friend. “You’re the one going for the bed, while we keep them busy fighting. Get through to it as fast as you can, and everyone else, use fireballs to disorientate your opponents.”

“I’ll go from the left with Epicraft,” he said, sliding back down the hill. “You Surge, will come in from the right, and the_derpster goes straight across. Remember, don’t enter until I signal!”

Sprinting stealthily across the island, the four friends drank their potions and ran off.

ThunderBolt hurried to the edge of the island, with the blue armour of Epicraft following close behind him. Climbing onto the red wool bridge, they ran across it to the diamond generator, trying not to take the one miss-step needed to send him plummeting into the void.

Looking up at the rotating diamond block as it dropped another diamond, ThunderBolt allowed the precious blue crystal to flow into his inventory, then pulled out one of his fireballs.

Gathering all his energy, he hurled the fireball up into the air, and watched as it exploded overhead.

Sprinting forward, the two teammates hurried across the second bridge and leaped high into the air, clearing the woollen wall that surrounded the base with ease.

Pulling out a fireball, ThunderBolt launched it at the approaching iron golem, then charged forward and destroyed it with another hit.

As the invisible body of Epicraft moved towards the mound of blocks that protected the bed, ThunderBolt and his other two teammates attacked.

Leaping high into the air, he knocked Entity303 aside with a single hit, then ducked under an attack from Herobrine.

As the three teammates engaged their foes, the sounds of breaking blocks filled the air as Epicraft’s goal grew closer.

Suddenly a fireball hit the three, engulfing them in flame and smoke, while at the same time removing all their potion effects instantly.

Rolling under Null’s sword, the_derpster pulled out his knockback stick and slammed his opponent into the wall.

Pulling his sword from its place in his inventory, he rammed it into the spot his enemy had been lying a moment before, embedding it deep in the red wool block.

As Null prepared an attack from behind him, the_derpster pulled vigorously to free his sword from its place in the soft red cube, but it was stuck firm.

Dodging a vicious blow from his enemy, he pulled out his pickaxe and broke both woollen blocks, freeing his sword.

Pulling out his stick again, he grabbed Null by the shoulder, swung around behind him, and before his opponent could do a thing, sent him flying into the void with a swing of the knockback stick.

Watching in satisfaction as his enemy disappeared into the misty emptiness below him, the_derpster turned around just in time to see the rest of the battle happen before him.

Epicraft, swinging his stone pickaxe valiantly, broke through the final layer of wood and destroyed the bed. Leaping to his feet, he let out a shout of triumph just as a diamond sword ran him through.

Surge, battling violently with Entity303, was vastly outmatched by his opponent. As his enemy’s diamond sword knocked his own weapon from his grasp, he pulled out a fireball and blasted the red-clad player through the woollen wall and off into the void.

As Entity303 fell, the white-cloaked player pulled out an iron-coloured egg and threw it back up onto the island.

As the spawn egg touched the ground, the grey surface cracked, and a huge angry iron golem appeared.

Lifting a huge metal fist, the gigantic monster brought it down on the spot Surge had been standing a moment before.

Pulling out his bow, Surge began to fill the enormous chest of the angry iron golem with arrows, barely managing to avoid its dangerous attacks.

In a final attempt to destroy its enemy, the golem fell forward, knocking both Surge and itself into the void.

ThunderBolt, fighting bravely with Herobrine, was taking far more damage from his opponent than he was dealing back.

Ducking under his opponent’s weapon, he looked up just as a knockback stick hit him in the face, sending him stumbling backwards until he was dangerously close to the edge of the island.

As Herobrine launched a fireball that could well knock him into to his death, ThunderBolt whipped out his sword and deflected it back towards his enemy.

The red-clad player was clearly not expecting this, and disappeared in a cloud of smoke and flame as the fire charge hit him.

When it cleared, there was nothing left.

“Is he,” the_derpster asked cautiously. “Is he dead?”

Suddenly a shining diamond sword appeared out of ThunderBolt’s chest, causing his eyes to open wide in alarm.

The_derpster watched in horror as his friend fell forward, revealing the smirking face of Herobrine.

Spinning around to face his enemy, the_derpster launched a fireball at the red-clad player, then placed a shield of wool as it was deflected back at him.

Turning, he sprinted across the bridge back to the centre island, then launched several fireballs at the woollen path, stopping Herobrine from following.

Stopping to catch his breath, he turned around and tried to think. It had all happened so fast—one moment all his friends were alive, and the battle was going their way, the next everyone was dead except him.

Then, another thought popped into his head. He could still win, and avenge his teammates in doing so. But, to do so, he would need resources. Lot’s of resources.

Taking a deep breath, he hurried forward and got to work.

Part 6 – Finale

AFTER collecting all the emeralds and diamond from their tiers, the_derpster hurried back to the Blue Team’s island and bought what he needed from Item Shop.

Directly on arriving, he bought diamond armour and a diamond sword. Next, he purchased another stack of wool, several more fireballs, some golden apples, and a couple of enderpearls.

Then, turning to Team Upgrades, he maxed out everything he could with the diamond he had.

Finally, he took out all the spare iron, gold, diamonds, and emeralds from his inventory and dumped them in a chest; he wouldn’t be needing any of them anymore.

After saying goodbye to the two villagers for the final time, the_derpster hurried across the woollen bridge to the centre island, and began searching for his enemy.

Just as he climbed to the top of one of the hills, an enderpearl flew through the air and landed on the ground before him, teleporting a red-clad player into view.

Herobrine lifted his head and glared at his enemy, his white eyes glowing bright with malice and hatred.

Running forward, the_derpster leaped into the air and brought his sword down hard. Herobrine blocked it with ease, and retaliated with a violent blow that knocked the_derpster to the ground.

With his opponent at his mercy, Herobrine lifted his sword and brought it down on the_derpster’s leather tunic in a killing blow.

The shockwave that followed this was so powerful that it knocked Herobrine flying up into the air, and onto his back several blocks away.

Looking up, the_derpster saw that his chestplate was glowing a bright, iridescent purple around the spot Herobrine’s sword had hit. The sword itself, was glowing a hot orange, the tip smouldering where it had hit.

Getting to his feet, the final remaining member of the Blue Team smiled at his infuriated opponent. “Protection is useful,” the_derpster said with a smirk, watching Herobrine’s bewildered face as it grew darker. “You should try it sometime.”

With a roar, the red-clad player charged forward, swinging his diamond sword furiously in a vicious attack that was easily avoided by a grinning opponent.

Stepping back, the_derpster pulled a soft white ball from his inventory and threw it onto Herobrine’s back.

As the fuzzy silverfish emerged from the snowball and bit its enemy on the neck, the crimson-armoured player roared in pain and fury. Clawing furiously with his hands, Herobrine attempted to dislodge the angry silverfish, paying no attention to what the_derpster was doing.

Wham!

A well aimed blow to the face sent both Herobrine and the icefish flying off the hill to land with a sickening crunch at the bottom.

Leaping lightly down beside his enemy, the_derpster watched in amusement as his opponent attempted to dislodge the silverfish from its grip on his nose.

Pulling out his sword, Herobrine dealt the spiny little mob a killing blow, then turned to face his attacker.

Sprinting forward, he pretended to leap into the air, but ducked instead under an incoming fireball and dealt an unexpected blow.

Stumbling backwards, the_derpster looked up just as a blow from a knockback stick sent him flying off the edge of the island and down into the mist of the void.

As he fell, the_derpster hurriedly searched his inventory, pulled out an enderpearl, and threw it with all his might, back up onto the island behind Herobrine.

The red-clothed player turned just as his enemy teleported, stepping sideways just in time to avoid a downwards sword-blow.

As they fought, gradually moving further and further away from the edge of the island, it soon became clear that Herobrine was a far more skilled fighter in close combat, and the_derpster stood little chance against him. The only thing that was keeping the last member of the Blue Team alive with the overpowered enchantments on his armour, which were stopping most of his enemy’s attacks.

Suddenly an idea popped into the_derpster’s head, and he ducked under another attack as a plan quickly formed in his mind.

Stepping back, he launched a fireball at his enemy, then, under the cover of the cloud and smoke that appeared on impact, he launched a hail of snowballs into the haze, each one containing a tiny icefish.

As the smoke cleared, the_derpster saw that his enemy was once again covered in biting silverfish, each one attached firmly to a place on his body as Herobrine attempted to dislodge them.

Running forward, he pulled out his knockback stick, and swung it with all his might.

With a final, furious yell, the final player of the Red Team went sailing through the air, over the edge of the island, and down into the misty depths of the void.

Looking down, the_derpster watched with satisfaction as his enemy disappeared forever into the void, then disappeared with a pop as he was transported back to the lobby.

Epilogue

BACK in the Prototype Lobby, the_derpster365 appeared, and looked about him.

He was surrounded by various players, all chatting with each other about random unknown topics.

As he moved between the groups, he was hailed by a voice, causing him to turn and see ThunderBolt beckoning to him, Epicraft and Surge by their sides.

Hurrying forward, he joined the group as Epicraft made room for him.

“So…” began ThunderBolt. “What did you guys think of Bed Wars?”

Epicraft nodded his square head. “It was good. A new experience, a little weird, but good.”

Turning their heads, they looked at Surge, who just shrugged, while ThunderBolt turned to the_derpster. “What about you?” He asked. “What did you think?”

The_derpster grinned enthusiastically. “This is way better than Murder Mystery!”
