The Halloween Party

It was 4 days before Halloween and Lauren was super excited because she was going to be a unicorn. Lauren was going to a Halloween party, it was at her best friend Kendall’s house. Everyone in her class was going to be there.
Chapter 1
Where’s Kendall?
At school one Friday Lauren was looking everywhere for Kendall but to her surprise she wasn’t anywhere to be found. She never came to class that day.
Earlier that morning.
The bell rang for class and Lauren ran to her first class, chemistry her least favorite subject.
“Kendall is okay, she is okay.” Lauren repeatedly said in her mind.
“What are you talking about?” Asked this voice behind her.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Who are you!?” Lauren screamed.
“Oh it’s just you Briar” Lauren said with a sigh of relief.
“I was just wondering where Kendall was.” Lauren said.
“You haven’t heard the news.”
“No what is it?”
“Kendall went on a family vacation over the weekend. She should be back soon.” Briar answered.
“Really, but her Halloween party is in 4 days!” Lauren said.
An hour later.
“Finally chemistry is done! Oh, wait there is like 10 more classes to go. Yay. Lauren said with a groan and ran to her next class, English.
Chapter 2
Missing
A few hours later.
Finally school was over and time to go home.
“Victory dance! It is the weekend! Halloween’s on Tuesday and I’m so excited!” Lauren said jumping for joy.
Once Lauren got home she started calling Kendall and texting her but she never answered or respond. “I don’t think Kendall went on a “ vacation”, because she would have answered me by now.
Monday morning.
Lauren walked into school and Kendall STILL wasn’t there.
“Where is Kendall now?” Lauren said in grief.
“Extra Extra read all about it Kendall Smith has gone missing!” Said the newes letter on wall.
“Kendall’s gone missing?!” Lauren said shocked
“Now I definitely know Kendall’s not on a vacation.”
A few hours later.
Ring ring went Lauren’s phone.
“Kendall are you there, are you okay, Answer me PLEASE!” Lauren asked desperately across the line.
“Sorry whoever you are calling can’t pick up the phone right now please leave a message.” Said the phone.
“I’m going over to Kendall’s house mom!” Lauren hollered.
“Alright Lauren!” Her mom answered.
Then Lauren went dashing to Kendall’s house.
Chapter 3
Answers
Knock, knock, knock, went Lauren right when she got to Kendall’s small, red, cozy house at the end of the block.
“Hello dear, what is your name?” Asked Kendall’s mom.
“Hi, my name is Lauren and I was wondering if?”
“No Kendall is not here because as you heard she has gone missing.” Kendall’s mom said trying to hold back the tears that were about to flow over. With a slam of the door Lauren left the house.
Lauren was awestruck she couldn’t believe that Kendall could just disappear. Yet she did not get the answers she was hoping for from Kendall’s mom.
Chapter 4
The Search Party
Lauren decided to help search with the police in her own time, she wanted to help find her lost friend. It just seemed right.
It is 5 in the morning and that means time to help look for Kendall. What I like to call it, Mission Kendall.
We searched the woods, we searched the whole town, but still no sign of Kendall.
10 hours later.
“Hey have you had any signs of the girl?”
“Nope, how about you?”
“Nothing either.” The cops went back and forth for about 5 minutes.
“Why can’t I find my friend!” Lauren said stressing out.
“Lauren it’s time to go home and eat dinner!” Lauren’s mom called out.
“Okay mom!” Lauren answered very tired.
Chapter 5
Really!?
Extra Extra read all about Kendall Smith had just been found!
“Really!” Lauren said absolutely shocked.
“Yay that means Kendall will be back soon!” Lauren said happily.
“Wait what does that little print say?” Lauren asked herself.
April fools! Said the tiny words.
“Oh my gosh that not something you joke about and it’s not even April it’s October!” Lauren said annoyed.
“What are you so angry about?” Briar asked.
“Ahhhhhhhhh! Briar we’ve had this talk before DON’T sneak up behind me, you know it scares me right?!” Lauren said angrily.
“Oops, sorry Lauren.” Briar said apologizing.
Chapter 6
One last search?
It is the last search before Halloween and Lauren is super excited because she is still going to have a fun Halloween party at Ken…. wait we still have to find Kendall let’s go find her!
“Yes today is Halloween but we are 7th graders so we don’t have Halloween party’s, which I’m totally fine with because I don’t want to humiliate myself in front of all my friends and the boys, they are so annoying.” Lauren said in her mind.
Lauren started to walk down the hallway as if she was walking a runway.
“Hey Briar Happy Halloween!” Lauren said joyfully.
“Hi Lauren and by the way Halloween was yesterday?” Briar said with a puzzled look.
“Oh, I missed Halloween! That is my favorite holiday and I had the best costume ever!” Lauren said stomping off.
“Wait let me tell you one more thing weren’t you a unicorn?”
“Yes how do you know, I didn’t tell anyone?” Lauren said questioning.
“You went trick or treating with me last night remember?” Briar said not answering Lauren’s question.
“You ate way too much chocolate and it was really late and you literally blacked out.” Briar said answering Lauren’s question.
“Oh, can’t believe I actually did that?” Lauren said very confused.
Chapter 7
Please! I’m Desperate!
“Darn! I didn’t get to go to a Halloween party this year just because Kendall has gone missing.” Lauren said angrily.
“I just want Kendall back!” Lauren said loud and proud but inside her head so she doesn’t seem so depending on her friend to help her.
Then Lauren took a long time just looking for Briar to see if she will sneak up on her again.
“Briar?” Lauren called out.
“Hey!” Briar answered.
“Ahhhhhhhh! Wait that was my fault I called you over, sorry.” Lauren said.
“It alright.” Briar answered back.
Back at Lauren’s house.
“Hey mom, I’m home!” Lauren called out.
There was no response.
“Mom!!!” Lauren said almost screaming.
Still no response.
“WHY! Why is everyone disappearing!” Lauren said.
“Please! I’m desperate!” Lauren said screaming again.
“Just give my friend and my mom back, please.” Lauren whispered silently.
Chapter 8
You’re kidding right?
Friday November 6
“Hey Briar!” Lauren called out.
“Hey Lauren!” Briar answered.
“Have you seen Kendall lately?”
“No.” Briar answered.
Since it was Friday they got pick which class they wanted to go to first. Lauren and Briar love art so they went to art class first.
Outside the classroom.
“Hey Lauren let’s go look for Kendall during lunch?” Briar asked.
“Sure, wait wouldn’t that be skipping school?” Lauren answered with a question.
“Yes it would be.” Briar answered back.
“Your kidding me, right?” Lauren said shocked on the answer she got from her best friend.
“Nope, I’m telling the truth.” Briar answered walking away.
The bell rang for class but Lauren just stood there unable to speak or move still overwhelmed from what her friend just said.
Chapter 9
Kendall! Where are you?!
Lauren decided to have another search for Kendall before she goes to bed. Instead of yelling her name around town , Lauren made flyers to hang up around town.
Back at Lauren’s house
When she waited for phone calls to be made to alert her that someone has seen Kendall.
1 hour later.
Lauren’s mom let Lauren stay up for another 2 hours to answer any phone calls there might have been but there were no phone calls so she decided to go walking around town and look. Until she found herself at the edge of the woods.
Chapter 10
The Edge of the Woods
Lauren creeped into the eerie woods expecting something to… pop out out at her. Even though she was frightened about this place she still walked through like she didn’t care one bit of what could go wrong. Instead she thought of the things that could go right. Like finding her friend, maybe be called a hero for finding Kendall. But she was still very frightened of the woods no matter how many good thoughts Lauren has.
“Hey Kendall come out please!” Lauren said with a quiver.
“Lauren, Lauren? Is that you?” A voice asked.
“Kendall, I found you!” Lauren said joyfully.
“No you did not it’s just me.” Briar answered.
“Briar! You always sneak up on me and I don’t like it!” Lauren yelled angry.
“Okay, I will stop.” Briar said walking deeper and deeper into the woods.
Half hour later.
Lauren was now in the middle of the woods and doesn’t know the way back home. She kept walking till she stopped dead in her tracks.
Chapter 11
What is that thing?
Lauren stopped staring face to face with a shadow with glowing green eyes. She didn’t know what it was till it made a deep growl, then Lauren knew exactly what it was.
“What is that thing?” Lauren whispered to herself.
“A-A-A, WOLF!” Lauren screamed as she ran the other way as fast as she could.
But the thing was that there are no wolves in these woods. Just deer and raccoons.
Lauren kept running till she was out of breath, she climbed up a tree to stay away from any danger. Lauren was beyond tired from all the running she had been doing so she dozed off. When we had woken up she was greeted by… Kendall, her best friend that had disappeared was back again.
“Kendall it’s you really you!” Lauren yelled almost screaming.
“What are you talking about?” A voice asked.
Chapter 12
No…way
“Lauren wake up it’s Halloween, your favorite holiday. Remember you have a Halloween party to go to it’s at Kendall’s house!” Lauren’s mom called from down stairs.
“No way is this real, it can’t be. I was just in the woods, how did I get here?” Lauren said confused.
“By the way you talked a ton last night.” Lauren’s mom responded.
“But, but, but.”Lauren said stuttering.
“Come on, get up please!” Lauren mom called going up the stairs.
” I’m up, I’m up!” Lauren yelled sleepily.
Lauren got up out of bed, got dressed, brushed her hair, and was ready for school. Her mom dropped her off at school and ran to her meeting spot where she meets Kendall every morning and she was there! Kendall was alright all this time, maybe it was just a dream Lauren was living in for the past 12 hours. But she was relieved her friend was not missing or she was getting chased by a wolf. Lauren still got to wear her unicorn costume she was dying to wear on Halloween night.
