The Longest Game
Whizz. The paintball went flying past my face. Peric and I were hiding in this old shed with two windows. I was on one side Peric on the other. The red team was firing at us from my side the yellow team was firing at Perics side. CLANK CLANK CLANK the paintballs were hitting the tin of the shed. “HELP!” Peric cried“I’m out of paintballs.” I only had one can of paintballs left.
I tossed them to Peric saying “It’s my last can!” I was down to about thirty-five paintballs when I told Peric “ Throw a paintball grenade and run!” I pulled the pin and chucked the grenade. I made a sprint to the forest. Peric was right behind me only there was yellow paintballs hitting the trees around us. Peric was shooting the yellow team while we were in the shed. I asked Peric “didn’t you throw the paint grenade?”
He said breathing hardly, “it did it must’ve not went off.”
A Few Hours Earlier
BEEP! The whistle blew the paintball game just started. There were four teams with four people on each team. The yellow, the red, the green, and the blue. I was on the
green team with my friend Peric and these two other people named Jon and Flair.
When the whistle blew Jon and Flair sprinted towards the mats. I told them not to do that because that is where the red team started. Sure enough they got shot by the red team and it was only thirty seconds into the game. Peric and I were the only players remaining on the green team. The red team was our rivals. They were crowned the champions they won twenty six times in a row.
Peric and I did not know where to go. We had a huge boundary.
THOP! THOP! THOP! The sound of paintballs coming out of a gun. Peric and I quickly dove behind the old house. We watched as the red team shot somebody on the blue team. We stayed behind the old house. The blue team only had three people remaining. The red team left the blue team’s gun behind. It was a sniper. Since Jon was our sniper. Peric and I decided to get the blue team’s sniper. Peric and I made sure the coast was clear and got the sniper. I grabbed the sniper, put it on my back, and ran toward the sniper tower.
The grass was really thick and tall. Then the red team came out of the sniper tower. Our legs gave out and we fell into grass. We laid there for about twenty minutes before they were done making their plan. When they were done Peric and I ran to this old shed. Whizz! The paintball went flying past my face. Peric and I were hiding in this old shed with two windows. I was on one side Peric on the other. The red team was firing at us from my side the yellow team firing at us from Perics side. CLANK CLANK CLANK the paintballs were hitting the tin of the shed. “HELP”, Peric said. “I’m out of paintballs.” I only had one can left of paintballs.
I tossed them to Peric saying, “It’s my last can!”
I was down to about thirty five paintballs when I told Peric, “Throw a paint grenade and run!” I pulled the pin, chucked the grenade at the red team, and ran. I made a sprint toward the forest.
Peric was right behind me only there was paintballs hitting the trees around us. Peric was shooting the yellow team while we were in the shed. I asked him, “Didn’t you throw a paint grenade?”
He said breathing hardly, “I did. It must’ve not went off!”
The red team ran into the forest where the blue team started the game. We ran to the sniper tower and set up the sniper. I was facing one side of the tower looking out of the scope of the sniper. Peric was on the other side trying to find people with the binoculars. “I found them it’s the red team!” Peric said.
I took my eye off the scope and focused on the red team. They were crawling in the grass. I aimed off what looked to be the sniper of the red team. I pulled the trigger, and saw the green paintball splat on his back. He stopped crawling and layed there quiet not moving. The red team was confused, they did not know what to do. If they stood up they would get shot by the yellow team and if they kept crawling they would get sniped. I heard some mumbles from the red team but I did not what they said. After a few seconds two members of the red team started firing their guns at the yellow team and the other guy started firing at Peric and I. I put my eye on the scope and aimed a the person that was firing at us. While I was doing that Peric was firing at him with a paintball machine gun. The crosshairs were right on his chest. I stopped moving and pulled the trigger. PPOM! The sound of a paintball getting jammed inside of the gun. It would take hours to clean. I ducked behind the wall to hide from the red team’s paintballs. I grabbed the machine gun and started firing at the red team. The paintball swerved and hit one of the red teams teammate in the face mask. There were only two people left on the red team now. The red team shot the yellow team and got them all out. The red team started to run up the stairs of the sniper tower and that’s where we were. I had one paint grenade left so did Peric. I pulled the pin of the grenade and threw I down the stairs. BOOM! Hundreds of paintballs went flying everywhere. We had hit the red team! Peric and I were the only players that had ever defeated the red team. We had beat the red team, all of the players on the yellow team, and all the players on the blue team, and two players on the green team.
Peric and I went home each with a five foot trophy and both got our names in the Hall Of Fame.
