In ‘Invasion of the Overworld’, Gameknight and Crafter had declared that villagers build walls and defences. It was a good decision, and Gameknight was proud of it. It was the only thing between the villagers and a horde of endermen. The endermen, out of their nighttime paradise, glared down into their shadows.

Even from so far away, Gameknight could see a few NPCs with startling purple veins standing among the endermen. He quickly jumped over the canopy towards the village until an archer NPC spotted him. “It’s the user-that’s-not-a-user!” He shouted. The other villagers followed his lead and shot at him an arrow.

Gameknight dodged it easily, and a rope trailed behind the arrow. A grappling hook! The villagers must have somehow grafted an arrow and an animal lead, Gameknight thought as he slid over to the wall. Some endermen had noticed him, but they could not teleport as easily in the day than in the dark and had no choice but to stand there protesting in his wheezy voice.

Soon, Gameknight and the village’s Crafter were discussing about the purple veins. “We call it the Enderman’s Mark. Whenever a darker than normal enderman strikes a villager, the symptoms appear. First, the villager feels dizzy before the purple veins appear. We don’t know what’s the third stage – several villagers caught it and we sent them outside. We drop them food but we keep them isolated.” The NPC told Gameknight. “We don’t know how to cure them. We’ve seeked help from Morgana, she still is packing at her swamp, but all her potions don’t work.”

“How about grafting?” Gameknight asked. “Oh, we discovered it on accident.” The villager replied. “We can graft pretty much anything, but some of it doesn’t work. The grappling arrow is one of our inventions.”
