Chapter One-The Arrival

“Hugo, your pizza’s getting cold!”Hugo’s mom hollered from the bottom of the stairs. “Coming mother!” Hugo yelled. “Hey, Gary I need to go down and eat dinner. Let’s work on Fortress Notch 2.0. tomorrow, OK?”“Fine with me.Bye!”“Bye.”

After the take-away pizza’s last shreds of existence had been utterly destroyed, Hugo’s mother called a family meeting in the living room.

“As you know, young man, your father and I are going on a trip, so co-operate peacefully with your brother. I do NOT expect our home to become a war zone with great-great-great-grandfather Shuckleberry’sportrait crashing to the floor. Do you two understand me?”“Yes, mother.” the twins droned out in unison. “Good. I will go to the supermarket and get the ingredients to cook your own meals. Won’t that be great?”“Yes, mother.” the brothers replied with very little enthusiasim. “Now, go to bed now, it’s nine-thirty p.m..” The twins climbed the stairs with the speed of a sloth, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite TV program. “FASTER!” their mother roared from downstairs, and the two sped up the stairs, none wanting to suffer their mother’s wrath.

“Well, it’s Saturday afternoon. Are you sure you want to come? If you don’t want to, I understand you concern.” Hugo said to the twin brother and sister. “No, we’re definitely coming today.” Gary replied on behalf of he himself and his little sister. “Should I get anything?” Hugo asked the twins. “No, thanks. We’ll bring three sandwiches though.”“Thanks. I’ll be waiting for you.”

“Ding-Dong”“Coming!” Hugo yelled as he bolted for the door. Gary and Tina walked inside. “Wow! You’ve got a pretty good house!” Gary remarked. “Quickly!To my room!” Hugo ushered them in, afraid his brother would barge in. Sure enough, in ten minutes, he did barge in.

“Hey, bro. my computer’s out of juice. Can I borrow yours?”“NO!” and a door slam was the only reply Hugo’s brother, Jasper got. “If you don’t let me in, I’ll break down the door!”Jasperthreantened.“Try it!” Hugo taunted. “BOOOOOM!!” and the door fell down. Jasper scrambled towards Hugo’s computer in a mad rush to get it. “Oh no you don’t!” Gary yelled as he tackled Hugo’s brother. Suddenly, a purple portal opened in Hugo’s computer, and the four people got sucked into it, falling into a seemingly never-ending abyss…

“What where whom?” Hugo yelled as he suddenly snapped back to reality. He screamed as he saw that the four of them were hurtling for a collision course towards the ground. BOOM! And the last thing he saw was red.

“Hugo! Snap out of it!” Gary yelled. Hugo’s eyes opened and Gary proclaimed like a doctor who had just finished a very difficult but successful operation that “He lives!” Gary’s voice boomed into Hugo’s eardrums like a cannon.“You didn’t have to install a holy…” Hugo’s voice trailed off into pure shock as he saw his friend’s face. “Oh no. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”“Yep.” Gary said with a grim look on his face. “We’re in Minecraft.” Hugo’s jaw dropped till it hit bedrock. “Well? What are we waiting for? We’ve got to get wood! Say, where’s the rest of the gang?”“Your brother and Tinahavealready gone collecting it.”“Wellthen ,RedstoneMaster, let’s go spelunking.” Gary gave him a stone pickaxe and the duo went in search for a cave, hoping to find some coal, perhaps iron.

“Well Athix, that should do it for tonight. The sun’s going to go down soon.”NereusGod said to him. “Great! I’ll go and tell Blitzwinger and Gamer to stop mining. We’ve got everything we need to survive the night.”“Blitz! We’ve got everything we need for the night! You and Gamer can stop mining now! Blitz?”“Coming!”Athix andNereus let out a sigh of relief. “You’ll never believe what just happened, Athix. We’ve found diamonds!”Blitzwinger said with a huge smile on his face.“Did you find any redstone, by chance?”Athix asked. “Nope, sadly not.” Gamer shook his head.“But we got loads of gold and iron. Everyone can have one gold chestplate and leggings with iron boots.Say, the house is looking pretty good.What’s the design source?” Gamer questioned. “It’s my house in Yolocraft season six.”Blitzwingermurmured“Have you been watching my videos, Athix?”“Yep. We like them! Too bad you won’t invite us to the series, as we’d really like to be in it.”“Anyway, AthixI’m gonna craft the armor now, do you guys wanna watch? You’ve only been building after all. Besides, it’s absolutely magic.”“Of course!” Gamer, NereusGod and Athix crowded around the crafting table. By arranging the gold ingots to fill all the blocks except the top row’s middle slot, he gets a gold chestplate. He arranges the gold ingots again, this time leaving two slots in the middle of the second and third rows. Finally, he arranges the iron ingots in two on one side and two on the other side, also put diagonally. “There! All done!”Blitzwinger announces happily. He gives the armour out to his friends so that they will have better protection. “Alright guys, how ‘bout tomorrow we scout around and get familiar with the area while me and Nerues go mining. OK?” The rest of the gang nods their heads in agreement, and they go to bed.

“Ah! Finally finished. 10 by 11 should do it for the night.” Tina said.“I gotta say, you three are quite the trio.” Jasper commented. “Maybe I should try playing in creative to hone my building skills Minecraft sometime. “Yeah, you should learn about it. Not the best time to get to know the gaming mechanics, kiddo.” Tina said with a smile. “It’s nighttime already, get inside!”“Why? I thought Minecraft was only about building.” Tina slapped her face. “Noobs know nothing. OK, Jasper, there are two types of gameplay, survival and creative.We are on survival by the looks of it, and when it’s night in survival, monsters can come out and kill you, like zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, witches, slimes… you get the point.”“So we’ll be safe in the house?”“Yep, as long as there are torches. If it’s dark then mobs spawn.”“Well, then let’s get going to the house now, we don’t want a zombie to spawn behind us, do we?”They go inside their home and open the trapdoor. “Gary! Hugo! We’ve got food, so come up for dinner! Tina yells, holding a cut of beef. “You’re never going to believe what just happened!” Gary yelled through the hole. “I think we saw someone!”

“Dinner is here. Tina brings several cuts of chicken, beef and bread. “So what happened at the mine?” Tina asked. “Well, we got some gold, iron and gold and I found some weird-looking ore. It was purple!  We also killed like 10 spiders! And I think we saw someone.” Jasper choked on his food, but managed to say “What? Whom?”“Well, it had hands and had a pickaxe. Hey, do you think there are other people here?” Gary questioned. “Well, it’s a possibility. Let’s go down to the mine together tomorrow and see the ore and check if there are other people “round here. Agreed?”“Yep.”The quartet settled down, put the iron in the furnace and went to bed.
