Evan Joytin: The Mystery Behind the Story of Entity303

By Enderdashx5x

They were his family, he loved each and every one. If his sister didn’t find him on the streets he wouldn’t be where he was now. The streets were terrible, those years were a nightmare to him. But the day his new sister found him and took him in had changed everything. When he was surrounded by the arms of his new family he had finally felt like he was home, that nothing would go wrong.

Six years later he zipped up his white hoodie and smiled. Looking into the mirror he saw his reflection: a tall black boy with dyed blonde hair, dark chocolate eyes, and wore what an everyday thirteen-year-old would wear to the movies.

This was Evan Joytin.

Joytin wasn’t his last name now, it was Yearling, but he didn’t like the way it sounded. His sister took his old last name too, so now she was Carrie Joytin. The two were the best of friends, nothing could separate them. They went to the same high school, helped each other with studying, and stayed next to the other through thick and thin.

He wouldn’t lie, Evan did have a crush on her. She wasn’t exactly his sister, they never filled out any forms. They weren’t related but they acted like it which helped hide his love interest in her. Every time she would walk into the room his heart would hurt, butterflies would fly around in his stomach, and his palms would sweat.

Someone knocked on his door. Fixing his hair, he turned around and walked over to his wooden door. He opened it and smiled. “Oh, hey Carrie!”

Carrie grinned and walked in her “brother’s” room. Her blue hair seemed to glow in the sunlight from the window. Her glasses sparkled as the light bounced off the glass.

“We gotta go, like, now.” Carrie said and grabbed Evan’s hand. As she pulled him out, he reached out and grabbed his phone from his bed. He walked out of his room and followed his sister down the large stairs. At the end they were greeted by their parents. They stood regally in front of the kids and were dressed like royalty. Evan told them they didn’t have to get dressy, it was only the movies. They laughed and let the teens out of the door into their car.

The teens got into the back and their father took the wheel. Their mom talked about her business and how her clients weren’t playing their game. Evan was always confused with business and taxes his entire life. No one explained them to him so whenever the subject got bought up he would remain silent.

Carie pulled out her phone and leaned toward Eric. “What song?” she asked quietly as she handed him her 6s. She pulled her bag out from the back and grabbed her earbuds. Eric kept scrolling through her songs, nervous that he might pick a song she hated.

Don’t be an idiot, he thought as he kept scrolling. These are her songs, she must love all of them.

He ended up picking a Cobra Starship song and pulled one earbud into his right ear. As he listened to the music, he glanced over at Carrie who was staring out into the window. Her face looked depressed: something was wrong.

“You okay?” Evan asked and put a hand on her shoulder. Her skin is soft. Ah! Evan stop!

Carrie looked at him and shrugged her shoulders. She fixed her glasses and said, “No, nothing’s wrong,”

Evan forced a smile on his face and took his hand off her shoulder. He knew something was off but she didn’t want to push her.

As the song finished they got to the theater. They got out of their car and walked to the entrance.

Then Evan heard it: a trigger to a gun.

He ducked down as fast as he could.

Bang!

Thud!

Evan turned his head but was quickly pulled away by another adult. He tried to wiggle out of their gip but he couldn’t.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Thud! Thud!

He was pulled inside the theater along with a horde of other people. He yelled out Carie’s name but it was cut off my other people’s screams. A bundle of police cars drove up and slid into a stop. The police officers jumped out and pulled out their guns with their dogs on their side. They chased the shooter out of Evan’s sight and after a few minutes everything calmed down.

Evan franticly ran around trying to find his family. He was having a hard time to he ran up to the closest police man he could find.

“Sir!” Evan said as he got closer to the man.

The taller man looked at him and back at a woman with a notebook and pencil in her hand.

“Yep, four deaths today,” the police man said to the reporter. “An old man, a grown couple, and a teenager girl. She was at such a younger age Quinn, it was so sad to see that girl dead and lying on the floor.”

“Um…Sir?” Evan asked again.

The man turned and looked bak at him and sighed. “What do you need, kid?”

Evan opened his mouth but thought for a second. A grown couple…a teenage girl…no.

“W-What did the couple look like? The one that died?”

The man looked at him with a shocked look on his face. “They…um…the man was Black and the woman was Asian. They were wearing clothes like they were going to a gala or something.”

N…No. NO!

“A…And t-the…girl?” Evan asked as he held back his tears. “The teen…the teenager g-g-girl?”

“She was also Black,” the man said. “wore blurry glasses and bobbed blue hair. Why?”

No…NO! Why?! Why me? WHY HER?! Evan thought as he took a step back. His hands were shaking and tears streamed down from his eyes and dripped off his chin. The officer grabbed the teen’s shoulders and asked what was wrong.

“She’s…gone…” Evan sobbed. “SHE’S GONE IT’S ALL MY FAULT!”

~Four years later~

The computer screen was the only source of light in the room. Spider webs were being crafted in the corners of the room and sticky notes where hung all over the walls. Broken pencils and empty cans of soda infested the floor. A cooler stood still next to the duct taped leg of the desk. It held sodas and waters but it wasn’t even cold anymore. A notepad lay on the desk next to the green-lit keyboard. On it was scribbles of numbers and IDs for servers.

The door opened and he walked in, throwing his bag on the ground. The boy grabbed the broom and trash bag and swept up the cans and pencils and made the ground clean. He reached up with the broom and dusted away all the webs. He tied up the trash bag and threw it into the trash can in the corner of the room. Walking up to the sticky notes, he reached for them but stopped. His hand shook in front of the yellow paper. He couldn’t do it.

Cursing in his head, he sat down in his chair and pulled his headset over his head. He fixed the microphone and glanced at the server ID.

Weird, he thought and typed in the numbers. I thought it was something else.

The clicked enter and his character got sent into the world of Minecraft. The boy smiled. He moved his character toward a large mountain in the distance. It didn’t take long till he was at the side of the large structure. Lava oozed out and fell onto the water forming obsidian.

He moved his character through a small hole in the ground and crept his way trough the labyrinth of caves. He saw a few creepers come close but he didn’t bother, he knew they were his friends. Soon he saw it, an opening to a large hall. He moved his character into the room and saw what he came for: a large creeper standing tall before him.

“Took you long enough,” the large creeper hissed.

“Sorry, I had therapy, Oxus” the boy said. “Hold on a sec and I’ll be in with the mod.”

“Good,”

The boy whirled around in his chair to the computer across the room. He typed a few words in, clicked enter, and pulled out the flash drive. He pushed against the wall and got sent flying back to the original computer. He plugged the flash drive in and pulled up a new tab. He typed in a few codes and pulled them into the game.

“They’re in, I’ll be in in a flash,” he said into his headset.

He pulled up his hacking site and typed in a few things and soon he was surrounded by light and felt like we was being swarmed by thousands of bees and cold spikes. Then everything stopped as fast as it started.

He reopened his eyes and found himself in the cave where his character was. He stood up and cracked his back, the impact hurt. Then he yawned and looked forward to see a tall boy with a half shaved green head.

“Welcome back Evan,” the other boy said.

Evan smiled and cracked his blocky knuckles. “Is the mod better? Does the design fit you more?”

“It’s still great dude,” Oxus said and wrapped his arms around Evan. “How’s life going?”

“It’s still bad,” Evan said in a sad tone. “I’m still not over Carrie’s…you know.”

“Yeah, it’s bad.” the creeper king said an drubbed his temples. “I’ve seen them come and go. Herobrine just never seems to stop.”

Evan sighed and rubbed his cheek. “That Herobrine needs to relax. How many kings and queens has he made? Ten? Eleven? And only a few remain, counting you.”

Oxus nodded. “I don’t know what keeps that virus going sometimes. It’s probably his hatred.”

“Hatred to whom?”

The human creeper king looked at Evan and shrugged. “A few years, more like a hundred, years back there was this user, Gameknight999. He pretended to be an NPC just to save Minecraft he fuddled with Brine’s plan a lot so I guess that’s why the virus hates him.”

Evan nodded and brushed his hand through his white hair. This was his only friend and he has been for a long time. After Carrie and his parents…went away this game was the only thing to calm his mind down. Then the day he found Oxus everything just seemed to get better. But he was still sad, nothing would fix the scar in his mind. Either it could get patched up barely or get worse.

They talked for a few hours, but then Evan eventually got off. Soon he was back in his apartment and had a terrible headache. He rubbed his head and pulled the flash drive out of the computer. He put it in one of his desk’s cabinets and reached for the power monitor. As he touched it a streak of white lighting stuck his hand as sent waved of pain throughout his body. He screamed and fell onto the floor as the pain took over his body.

Evan didn’t realize he had blacked-out until he woke up and the sun was in his eyes. His head still hurt, along with his entire body, but he was able to get off the ground. The wall supported him as he limbed his way over to his bathroom. When he got there he splashed water on his face and looked into the mirror.

He gasped and almost fell onto the ground again. His heart was beating fast, too fast. He scrambled back up and stared into the mirror. This can’t be real, he thought. it can’t.

But it was. Evan’s eyes were a milky white, almost pure white. They seemed to glow and they hurt, my God, they hurt. He tried to wash the white stuff out of his eyes but it just seemed to get worse. His vision was becoming more and more blurry; he needed to call someone. But who? 911? What would they do? The only person Evan knew was his therapist, but he knew that he would be in Miami since he left last night.

“What’s happening?!” he asked himself.

The better, that’s what’s happening.

He almost seemed to gag on the words. That wasn’t him, that’s wasn’t his voice. What was going on?

You know, I would love to tell you, but that would make this all less fun.

Evan’s head hurt even more, he couldn’t handle it. He stumbled out of the bathrooms to his phone, he needed to call 911. As he reached for his cell a sharp pain seemed to stab through his stomach. He yelped and fell onto the floor. Black tears rolled down his faces and he screamed. The pain was unbearable, nothing could comprehend it. It was like he wad dying.

No, no, Evan, you’re just breathing new life. Well, I am.

Then the white substance in his became opaque. Evan became blind but he could still see. But he wasn’t in control anymore. It was a virus, it had taken over him.

GET OUT! Evan tried to scream, but he seemed to become the voice inside of his head. He had no more control of his own body.

His body laughed. “Oh Evan, you just gave up so easily. Even that puny NPC gave up a better fight. But I see why, it was all because – who? – that Carrie girl?”

Evan growled and tried to fight the creature but he couldn’t do anything; he was like a spirit.

“You know, Evan, I think I might enjoy your body,” it said from Evan’s mouth. “Oh, and I can have so much fun doing so, a-” It stopped talking and touched Evan’s throat.

What are you doing? Evan asked.

“What is up with your voice?!” It asked. It used his body to walk over to the window and open up the blinds. He looked round and saw it in the corner of his eye: Big Ben.

“I may just be a virus but SERIOUSLY?!” it hissed.

What? Evan asked. So I moved to London, big deal. I tried to get as far from California as I could.

“How do I fix you’re voice?! It’s so annoying!” it yelled.

I mean, you might be able to find my non-accent voice, or you could just use your own. Evan said blandly.

It coughed and cleared Evan’s throat. “How’s this?”

The voice was dark, not deep, but dark. It sounded like one of those villainous characters from The Hobbit. This told Evan that he had gotten himself in a terrible situation.

Get out. Evan said.

“What?” It laughed.

GET OUT OF MY BODY!

“Oh you’re so funny, Evan,” it said. “but I’m staying for a long, long time.”

And then Evan seemed to loose everything.

Seven months? No, eight months, yes, that’s how long he had been stuck with the creature. Evan’s voice still rung through the creature’s head, but he had been silent as he had watched what their virus had done. It tore apart his only friendship, almost destroyed a world, and almost killed a thirteen-year-old-kid. It was a monster, a viscous one, ready to pounce on it’s prey any second. It didn’t care what it did to others, it did n’t bother if it destroyed world after world. All it seemed to want was the destruction of everything, but only Evan knew. Being inside of the thing’s head, both were able to share each other’s thoughts with each other. But what the thing-Brine-didn’t know its that Evan knew what it felt.

Fear.

Evan feel onto the floor with a thud, his body aching after being dragged out of the game. He couldn’t move or else the pain would just increase. I opened his eyes and realized something: he was free. He was in control of his own body! He smiled but it made his body hurt so he just leaned against the wall and slowly breathed. After what felt like forever it was over.

That’s what he thought.

I’m not done here, idiot. It said in his brain.

Evan almost screamed and banged his head against the wall. He wasn’t going to let it in control again.
