Hurricane Alice

Chapter 1 – The store

Swoosh swoosh water coming through every crack possible as Jack his parents and his dog Sparky are trapped in the house desperate for the storm to be over while they move up there house as the water gushes in the house .

Vroom vroom, as we pull up to Walmart .

“Are you ready to get the steel shutters ,and food? “ dad questioned .

“Ya sure “ I replied so we got out of the big black Ford four door truck as wind flew around and with gave me a chill up my spine . Then we walk up to the two inch thick sliding glass doors . Then right when I walk in I realize I’m dodging people left and right .

Then dad said ,“hustle up.” Then finally after passing a few people I caught up to my parents and we went to the food area.

3 minutes later

“Mom what do we need for food? “ I asked.

My mom replied,  “Water ,bread ,and fruits.”

“Ok let get the things we need”I said .

Then dad said in a hurry ,”So I grab the the bread mom grabs the water and Jack grabs the fruits then come back here.”

“Ok” mom and I replied .

1 minute later

“Let’s go get the steel shutters” dad said . So a after passing a couple aisles we got to the steel shutters .

“Dad won’t we need a those big flat rolling carts”I question.

“Yes”dad replied.

So he grabbed  one of the big carts for the steel shutters then we realized that the steel shutters are right by the cart .

5 minutes later

“Thanks” dad tells the girl at the counter .

Then we load the huge steel shutters in our truck and drive home .

 

Chapter 2 – Home

Chapter 3 – Lockdown

 

Then dad came up in a panic and Yelled over the sirens, “Let’s get up stairs to our stuff” . Then we hustled up the stairs to my mom and dad’s room with between the walls has thick brick walls to protect us from flying objects .

2 hours later

“Yes” yelled mom once again after playing five card games .

“I win” she rapidly repeated .

“Well it’s time for bed Jack” dad mumbled to me in defeat then I Walked over to my inflatable mattress and layed down on the mattress . Sparky then walked over and curled up besides me and I dozed asleep.

 

Chapter 4 – What’s In My House

 

Wosh splash then I jump “What was that?” I said in a fright and then  I stared into the salty ocean water which was know devouring our house then I cried out in terror, “our house is flooding!”

Then my Dad and mom tiredly said ,“What?”

“The house is flooding” I yelled to get their attention. Then dad and mom rushed out of bed and opened the attic .

Then dad panicked, “Get in the attic!” so I climbed up and then got up in the cold dark dusty filthy attic and dad slammed the door shut .

Then I think about Sparky and ask, “Where’s Sparky?”

Then dad said “We forgot him.” so dad pried open the little door and dashed down the ladder and plunged in the salty blue water and swam to Sparky . Then he grabbed Sparky and tugged him to the ladder and haled him up the ladder and then dad plopped Sparky up in the attic as the water was eating at him .

Then dad climbed in the little attic and slammed the hatch shut and said “ “I don’t know how much longer we have until the water gets to us up here.”

 

Chapter 5 – Blackout

 

Swish swish water was  flooding through every crack possible .

“Dad hurry ” I yelled as the water was eating us . WAM as dad chopped at the roof WAM WAM as the slightest of light peered through the two by three foot hole .

Then dad said ,“Get on the roof . So I picked up Sparky who felt like a block of steel at the moment, and shoved him on the roof and I climbed up right after. Sparky was on the freezing wet roof so then we covered our heads while Dad was on top of us and Sparky was whimpering. We sat there and I yelled, “I know! What do we do?”

Then Mom yelled , “We stay here.”

Then I questioned, “Why?”

Then dad said ,”If we stay here the wind is gonna take us away like a car sucked up into a tornado.”

“Good point…but where should we go?” dad said . Then I felt something strange which shot a chill up my back as the wind howled. A big breath of wind shot at me like a bull that sees red . It flung me off the roof and I hit the ground, crack!

 

Chapter 6 – Where Am I

 

Beep beep beep I open my Eyes and I think where am I? nd what is that sound?

Then mom and dad come in the room and I say ,“What happened?” then I lift up my arm and my arm cries with pain and I cried, “OW”

I look and find my arm in a cast.  How did this happen? Then dad said,” The hurricane shot you off the roof and your arm broke your fall . Also you’ve been in a coma for six and a half weeks”

So I ask, “When do I get to go home?”

Then mom said, “There is no home.”

I ask, “What about Sparky?”

“He is in our new car .

Dad said, “We’re moving to Missouri today.”

“why today?” I ask.

Dad exclaimed, “because we bought a new house.”

“But my friends,” I said .

“We will just have to come visit them every once in a while.”

Then I murmured, “Ok” angrily.

Next dad said, “ok, let’s get you checked out and head to Jacksonville, Missouri.”

Then I walked outside and I stood in shock as I looked and saw that everything was trashed . “This place got trashed!” I exclaimed.

“Yes it did” mom said back .

Dad said, “Get in the car and let’s go to our new house .”

1 fact . hurricanes Alice was the first hurricane that got named in abc order and it started in 1953 and has now been around for sixty four years .
