The Big Game

 

Chapter 1

The game was on the line with Ben and his team named the Franchise Mudslides down by 42 in the fourth quarter with three minutes to go with the two minute warning in the Mudslides favor.  Ben’s team the Mudslides were playing in the championship game against the Golden Hawksbill.  His team calls a timeout to stop the clock or the game would be over.

They got back on the field and the quarterback calls wheel route, inside slant, Down, Set, Hut!  It was a pass play,

“He’s throwing it deep down field and…

 

Chapter Two

The Night before

    Ben and his team are hanging out in a treehouse they built right over the football field.  They called it the “Tan Mamba” because it’s big and wood is tan.  They were so nervous.

“Can you guys wait?” Ben’s teammate Jim presents.

“Shut Up and go to bed” Ben angers.

“He always gets so annoyed by Jim. He can’t stand him.”  Jake said whispering.

Jim yelled, “YES! He can to,”

“NO! He can’t,” Jake yelled back.  No one could fall asleep because of Jim, of course, and Jake. It was a long night for the friends.

 

Chapter 3

1 hour before

    Everybody was getting there pads on for the game, and everybody was super tired because of Jim and Jake arguing last night.

“Can you believe we’re in the State Championship.” Jim yawning, told Ben.

“Don’t get your hopes up, it’s only 1 hour before,” replied Ben yawning.

“Exactly, it’s only 1 hour before.” Smiling said Jim

So they went to go warm up, and again Jim had to drink a Mountain Dew so know he was the only one awake at that time and he shouted, and shouted and shouted.  And everybody went,“REALLY!” And even the other team heard him.  We had to tell him to shut up or else no one would stand next to him ever again.

“He is so crazy,” Ben told Luke.

“Ya think,” Ben replied.

“At this point I wish he wasn’t in our team.” Jokingly said Luke.  Then the team could see smoke coming out of the treehouse and they were shocked.  The team just stopped and paused as they watched their beloved burn to the ground.  They delayed the game because of that and the Mudslides were heartbroken and they were shattered.  They called the fire department and they put the fire out but it took a while.  They built a new one on their day off. They called it the same and they built it bigger, and better.  It was like a luxury apartment that the rich live in.

 

Chapter 4

Game time

    After the delay, the people who scheduled the game decided to move the game to the next day, which is today.  It was time for the Mudslides to show that they were ready. Oh, and they were ready for the biggest game of their life.

Here’s kickoff and the Mudslides get the ball.

“Ben returns it, and  he’s hit hard and FUMBLE the Hawksbill scores a touchdown.” Yells the announcer.  Again the Mudslides get the ball bit this time they won’t touch it it’s a touchback.

They are at the line of scrimmage and the Quarterback calls the cadence Set Hut their going to pass and… INTERCEPTION the Hawksbill score again.   So now the Mudslides have the ball again but it’s the end of the quarter.

 

Chapter 5

Quarter 2

      It was 14-0 and the Mudslides were not doing very well.  So they have the Ball and the quarterback throws the ball and it’s INTERCEPTED and Hawksbill returns it for a touchdown.  Part of the reason the ball was intercepted is the receivers are lousy and just stand there waiting.  It’s now 21-0 and the Hawksbill are Yet to receive a kick and the Franchise Mudslides are receiving again and guess what happens…

“FUMBLE” yells the reporter

“And The Golden Hawksbill score again!” It is now 35-0 at the end of the second quarter.

 

Chapter 6

Quarter 3

    The Golden Hawksbill receive and they scored another touchdown.

“It’s now 42-0 and I think they have this one in the bag and the Mudslides have the ball again.” Thirty seconds left they get the ball and Ben catches it he breaks tackles and he is speeding down the sideline and he gets tackled at the 1 yard line when time expires.  The Mudslides get to the sideline and they are exhausted.

“If you guys don’t score a touchdown, I will put the second team players in, you got me!” The coach furiated.

 

Chapter 7

Quarter 4

    “The Mudslides have the ball at the one and it’s a handoff and the Mudslides finally score!”

Exclaims the announcer. 42-7 and the Mudslides have only 2.5 minutes to win.  The kicker kicks it but it’s an onside kick and the Mudslides get the ball back.  They only have 10 more seconds before the two minute warning.       “They throw a Hail Mary (and I don’t know how he can do that, but I guess there in high school) and Jim catches it and he runs for a touchdown!”

“The Mudslides are only down 42-14 and they’re coming back with a chance to win or possibly overtime,” the announcer But suddenly when Jim was running back to the sideline he passed out.  And everyone was worried.

Chapter 8

Two minutes left

    Jim would never return so the Mudslides could be in trouble, since Jim is there best player.

“The Mudslides kick it again but this time they actually kick it and the Hawksbill fumble and the Mudslides score!”                                               It’s now 42-14 but with a minute to go they’re not going to  win.  Kickoff and again the Hawksbill fumble and the Mudslides score! They are now down 42-21 they only need three more touchdowns.  Thirty more seconds left and Ben’s team basically has no chance or do they.  They do an onside kick and… they get the ball!

“The quarterback throws it down deep and it is… CAUGHT for a touchdown!” Now they only have 15 seconds left for two more touchdowns.

“They actually kick it this time, and the Hawksbill have the ball and all they need to do is kneel.”

“But they don’t and it’s intercepted for a touchdown!” “Now the Mudslides made an ugly game into a fascinating game. On onside kick is on the way and the Mudslides fastly get the ball.  Now they have the ball, 5 more seconds and the quarterback throws it deep and.. again it was CAUGHT for a touchdown! Now it’s tied and it’s going into overtime.
