Story Brainstorming Presentation

The thing all authors fear is the blank page. Starting a new book is usually a terrifying and depressing process for me, because coming up with an interesting for a story is difficult. After writing 24 novels, I’ve had to face this beast many times. At one point, I was contracted by the publisher to write a new book every other month! And to do this, I had to develop a process for brainstorming ideas for the next book.

In this presentation, I offer tools and resources to help kids come up with an exciting idea. I offer my remedy to the dreaded Writer’s Block, and also the Brainstorming Organizer, where kids can jot down their ideas. Lastly, I show the Brainstorming Organizer filled out for my Minecraft short story, Battle with the Wither King. The final version of this story is made available in PDF form and can be replicated and handed out without restriction, as long as it stays FREE to everyone.
