Prologue

“Stockholm, Sweden, here we come.” Were the first words out of Tommy Feynman’s mouth as the huge airport rose up in the distance. “Wow.” was Crafter, Sticher, and Hunter’s first response to everything the used-to-be villagers had seen so far, including the TV, the car ride to the airport, the radio, and even the coffee machine; Crafter, Stitcher, and Hunter all tried coffee; Crafter liked it, Hunter thought it was gross, and Stitcher literally gagged.
Once they made it onto the airplane, though, time started to speed up for Tommy. On the 9 hour flight, Tommy slept for 7 hours and watched a movie before the flight attendant announced that the plane was landing. The 4 teenagers, with 400 dollars, from Tommy’s dad, who wasn’t with them, clothes, and basically nothing else besides Tommy’s phone, charged out into busy Sweden on a mission to save Minecraft and possibly the whole wide physical world.

          Chapter 1: Notch’s dumb idea

Tommy sighed, tired of Hunter and Stitcher’s bickering. Hunter thought that they should go straight to Minecraft’s headquarters straight away, while Stitcher wanted to explore. “Look, you two.” He said to the pair of them as the 5th argument broke out between the sisters. “How about we get something to eat, get a taxi to Minecraft headquarters, and then we can visit this shop on the way back to the airport.” “I agree with that plan,” Crafter said encouragingly, trying to help Tommy out in every way possible.
After eating, they got into a taxi and headed to Minecraft headquarters. They walked inside and headed for the lady at the front desk. Tommy took a deep breath, nervously opening his mouth to speak, but Crafter sensed his friend was nervous and spoke before Tommy had a chance to mess things up. “We request an audience with Notch,” Crafter said calmly. “Marcus doesn’t have time.” the lady at the desk responded stiffly, looking up from her papers. “If you want an autograph, I think he pre-signed a few. I’ll go grab some.” the lady said, standing up and stretching her legs. “No! Don’t go.” Hunter blurted. “I’m certain that Notch will have time once he hears this,” Crafter said to the now impatient lady. “Oh? What could possibly be important enough to interrupt Marcus while he is busy updating and improving Minecraft?” The lady raised her eyebrows, not buying their arguments. “Who cares about updating Minecraft when it’s being destroyed as we speak? Herobrine is destroying Minecraft and if we don’t do something, then Herobrine will make every Minecrafters servers and worlds to glitch and delete themselves. Minecraft will be gone, and on top of that, if we don’t hurry, Herobrine might escape into the real world and could seriously do some damage. So yes, I do think that Notch will have time.” “Well, why didn’t you just say that in the first place?” the lady said. “Follow me.” she said and they rode the elevator and took a right and the lady stopped in front of a door marked “Development room.”

The lady opened the door and they all saw 4 or 5 grown men laughing and high-fiving each other. “What’s going on?” Stitcher asked curiously before Hunter shushed her. ”Ahhh. Hello, young one. We’ve just released a new update titled ‘The Wild update.’ It’s a big update that we think is very incredible. I think you’ll like it.” Notch smiled at Stitcher, not knowing that he was this young child’s creator. “Hello, Martha,” Notch added to the lady, who now turned to go back to the front desk. “Hello, kids. How may I help you?” Notch said, turning back to the 4 of them.  “We need to have a talk about Herobrine,” Tommy said. Notch’s smile vanished. “Right. Follow me to my office, please.” Notch said, all business.

5 minutes later they were discussing how to get rid of Herobrine. “He has destroyed every Anti-virus program we sent.” “We know.” “What do you propose we do?” “How about… uh…”You didn’t get that far yet, did you?” Notch said a small smile on his face. “Not really,” Tommy said. “Well, there is one idea. But it’s very dangerous. You see, I’ve bought a new technology lately from some genius in America. It hasn’t been tested yet by anyone yet, besides the creator. But it’s all we got,” Notch said thoughtfully. “Follow me.” As they walked down yet another hallway they came to Notch’s office. Notch opened the door and gathered them around an object covered in cloth. “As each anti-virus is sent out, Herobrine learns the patterns of that particular anti-virus and we have to come up with a new way to stop it, but none of them have been powerful enough to take him on 1 on 1 and defeat him, although the Warden almost stopped him.” “What’s a Warden?” asked Stitcher. Notch gave her a funny look. “Anyways, what is this technology you’ve bought.” Notch pulled the cloth off the item. “Hey… doesn’t that look familiar?” Hunter said. Tommy felt his jaw drop. It was the Digitizer!

Chapter 2: The Digitizer

“So you’re saying that this is your father’s invention, and you’ve used it before?” Notch said after a brief explanation from Crafter, quite surprised. “Yes, and I say we go through and try to defeat Herobrine,” Tommy said. “It’s our only shot”.
10 minutes of preparation and waiting for Notch to explain why he wouldn’t be at work for a few days later, they were ready. They went into Notch’s office and waited for the digitizer to do its thing. Soon a tingling feeling ran up their spines and they prepared to enter the server. He entered where he had last been on the server 30 blocks away from the zombie town portal and Tommy cursed, realizing that they were in the void and would start taking damage in a second. He searched his inventory, trying to find anything that could help them, when he heard the others much farther away from him, start to take damage. He found a stack of pearls and tossed all but one in their direction, hoping they would all catch one and throw it at the portal. He threw an ender pearl and landed on the island, and waited, and waited, and waited, but there were no signs of any of his friends when Notch appeared out of thin air. “Notch!! Where is everyone else?!?”. “I don’t know, friend. I pearled around everywhere and couldn’t find them. Either they went through a different portal or they didn’t make it.” Notch looked down. Tommy felt emotions coursing through him and he didn’t know what to do, so he simply said “Well? Let’s go through.” and jumped into the server portal.
