CHAPTER 1
“I can’t believe you forced us to go treasure hunting,” complained Lilo. “I have all the diamonds I need!” Alex and Angela glared at her. Alex had invited them to go, but Lilo was impatient. “We should just have called a taxi!” “a taxi cost money, Lilo.” Answered Angela . “We spent plenty on ice cream.” With that she ate a jelly bean. Lilo continued to complain. After what seemed to her a year, they finally reached the cave. Lilo sat down and pulled out her secret stash of cookies. “How old are those?” Alex exclaimed. Lilo shrugged and chomped on a ginger sweet cookie. Alex and Angela left her to her cookies and went into the cave. Alex tossed her friend an iron pickax and they got to work. Alex placed a torch on the wall. An illuminating glow made the chamber less creepy. That’s when Alex noticed a tan-ish ore. She had never seen or heard about it. carefully, she mined it. She knelt down to pick it up, but stopped as a hissing sound filled the air. She whirled around to see a very angry creeper. She immediately stuck out her hand. The creeper smiled as it took the coal from her and walked away. Alex turned to get her ore, but it was gone! The new, cool, never touched ore was missing! “Angela!” she yelled. “Do you have my ore?!” “no.” came the far away reply. Alex was about to go ask the creeper she saw, when Angela said she had found diamonds and wanted to go get ice cream. The ore was forgotten as the girls went to collect Lilo. If only they’d turn around, they would have seen a figure holding Alex’s ore. But they didn’t, and the figure walked deeper in the cave and was gone. Read book 2 soon!
