Chapter 1: The Attack
Wa-Sin, the new zombie king, peered through the roofed forest’s tree trunks as he
stared at his target: A village, bathed in the moonlight of the night. There was a fortified
cobblestone wall, and most likely there were watchers on top of the archer towers
scattered around the wall. That would be no matter: it would be a pile of rubble soon
enough.
“I will avenge him,” Wa-Sin growled, then reached for something out of his inventory. A
golden crown, with jagged spikes sticking up like horrible claws tearing into its next
victim. This was the crown of Xa-Tul, the zombie king before him. Clenched in Wa-Sin’s
hand was a diamond sword, its icy surface gleaming with enchantments. A diamond
sword was a rare weapon any zombie would ever be able to touch. From head to toe he
was decked with iron armor, which also flowed with enchantments.
“Zombies,” Wa-Sin growled to the massive zombie army that was behind him. “Ahead
lies the village. Remember the special tactics I taught you back in zombie-town; now, it
is time to put those tactics to some use. Wa-Sin then pointed his diamond sword
towards the village. “Zombies, ATTACK!”
The zombies flowed around the trees and Wa-Sin like they were stones in a raging river.
When they reached the plain, alarms were sounded; most likely, the pathetic villagers
were getting ready to fight. That was to be expected.
Despite the shower of arrows that was now raining down on the army, the zombies
quickly reached the wall. The dozen or so zombies with leather armor in the front
switched their weapons to red and white stripped blocks and placed them on the wall.
Another zombie, this one with golden armor, pulled out some flint and steel. He struck
each of the TNT blocks once, setting off the fuse. Just like they were taught, the
zombies moved back, far away from the doomsday devices eight blocks in front of
them.
BOOM! A massive hole was ripped into the wall. Cobblestone blocks rained down
everywhere. Villagers throughout the village screamed as the green creatures marched
into the village, but it was too late. Villager after villager disappeared into smoke as the
zombies attacked without mercy. They spread out through the village, ripping doors off
hinges and catching any survivors hidden in the houses. A few lucky NPCs made it to
the cobblestone watchtower, where they quickly descended into the depths of the
crafting chamber and, most likely, the minecarts, too.
When the coast was clear, Wa-Sin marched into the village, wielding his diamond
sword, looking for any stragglers. When he was satisfied that the village was completely
empty, he smiled a toothy grin.
“Zombies, today marks a great day for the zombie race,” he screamed. “For the third
great zombie invasion has BEGUN!”
The zombies growled and yelled with excitement at such a ferocity that made the fabric
of Minecraft cringe in fear.
