The Sticky Guess

Chapter 1

    Doug stuck his hand in the box and immediately pulled it out.”Ow,” he said. He licked the side of his index finger as if it had honey on it.

Chapter 2

    Doug was a 17 year old boy who just got an invitation to a game show called “What’s In The Box?”which is where people have to guess what’s in the box. The invitation said that Doug needs to be at the game show on December 23 at 10:00am. After that, Doug went to go run his energy out so he would be ready for tomorrow.

Chapter 3

    Doug woke up the next morning at 9:30 which gave him enough time to get him dressed and ready. He hopped in the car and drove to the game show. Once he got there, he heard the game show host mouthing off at people who guessed wrong what was in the box. Doug took a few more steps until he could get a really good look at the host.

“Hello,” stated the game show host.“I am the game show host, my name is Richard.”

“Oh,” Doug said as he was walking towards the front entrance.

“Do not go there yet, we are at a commercial break,” exclaimed Richard. Doug was going to go sit down but Richard shoved Doug over and Doug hit a glass flower vase. The flower vase fell off the table holding it and…crash, glass was everywhere. Some of the camera crew came over and asked if everyone was alright.

“Ya,” said Richard with a smirk on his face. Then Richard ordered some people who worked there to go pick up the mess. Doug thought in his mind that Richard thinks he is the royalty in and outside the game show. The commercial break was over and Richard had to go back on stage. There was a list of all the names that were next. Doug noticed the list and saw that he was next.

The person had passed and it was now Doug’s turn. Doug walked up on stage all tense. Richard gave him an ugly smirk. Richard gave the introduction to the game show, and then introduced Doug to the audience. Richard asked some questions like, “What is your favorite NBA team?”

Doug answered back and said, “Los Angeles Lakers.”

As Doug stood there shaking, Richard starts grabbing the box. From the way Richard is grabbing it, he looks like he is going to pass out.

Richard now said, “What’s In The Box?”

So Doug stuck his hand into the box, but once he stuck it in there he felt a hard sting and screamed,“Ahhh!”

He started to calm down more, but still heavily shaking. He took a hard look at the sting on his finger. He noticed some sticky stuff on his finger. He took a closer look at it and found out that it was honey. Then he shouted out the answer,

“HONEY!”

Richard gave him an odd look. “Correct,” said Richard.

Doug could barely hold in his excitement. He asked what his prize was for getting the correct answer. Richard had one of those sliding doors that people use on game shows when they reveal the prize. The sliding door was as slow as molasses, but the the door was very colorful with the name of the game show on the front. Doug saw a blue car with a sleek hood with the Lamborghini symbol on the hood. When Doug noticed what he was looking at, he flipped out. He wanted to hop into it right now. Doug made a second thought and calmed himself down. He tried to hold it in as hard as he can. To him a Lamborghini was a lot of money. Doug was very excited that he guessed it right, but on the other hand Richard acted like he had a million Lamborghinis.

“Can I have the keys?” asked Doug.

Richard snarled at Doug but gave him the keys. Doug unlocked the Lamborghini and took a big whiff of the new car scent. He sat in the front seat and turned the car on. There were “oohs” and “ahhs” from the crowd. Doug could hear the new engine, he popped up the hood and saw the V12 engine. His face was amazed. He reached out to touch the engine. After he was done being amazed by the car he asked Richard if he could take it home.

Chapter 4

Doug was on the way to a gas station to get gas when he ran into his mom at the gas station. She asked him how he did and he just pointed at his Lamborghini and smiled. The gas tank Doug was at made a clicking sound which meant it was all full. He drove the car to his house and parked it in his garage with his other cars and went in his house to celebrate the event.
