Water Is My Protector

Book 1 of the A.D.H.D. series

By: Jenna

Confused and Afraid

¨ Let’s take a bath,¨ my mom said as I looked at the water in the bath, and then I
felt something happening, something I might never know what it is, I felt a spark, no
ordinary spark at all, I felt a spark of the water element begin to form into my soul and
knew it was trying to tell me something. After that I knew I had to find out what the water
was trying to tell me. Only a minute later I found out a part of what it was trying to tell
me, but I didn’t find out soon enough. The water was trying to warn me of the spirit who
was trying to take control over me, the name it goes by is A.D.H.D., but before I found
out something busted the roof open and grabbed me as I was screaming for help right
before I couldn’t see anything. ¨Mom, Dad, where are you, where am I ?¨ I didn’t know
where I was or where I was going I just knew I had to escape and fast, I didn’t know
what the monster wanted or what it will do to me, so I ran.
Eventually I found a lake, I knew the best place to hide from the monster was by
water, because water is my protector. When I got there the water told me I had to build
a shelter because the monster comes out at night. I listened and quickly collected some
wood and the supplies I needed to survive the night, even though I wouldn’t be able to
tell if it is night or day because it was so dark and cold. I woke up in the morning to find
a little girl who looked just like me. The little girl looked as though she had been hiding,
just like me. The only thing going through my mind was “Should I help her, or is this a
trap?” I asked the water if I should or not, the water told me “You know the answer. Just
follow your heart.” I knew just what I should do.
Reaching out for a Friend
I started walking towards the little girl, feet trembling, heart pounding, through the dark
and scary forest. When I finally reached the little girl I was paralyzed.
“Hi,” I trembled. The girl immediately turned around and backed up.
“Please don’t hurt me,” the little girl pleaded.
“What, no I’m not going to hurt you, I just want to help,” I reassured her, knowing how
she felt. I saw the monster lurking near us. “Follow me,” I whispered. We went to the shelter I
built the night before. When I made a friend I felt something other than fear, darkness, or the
other bad things that were there. I was also wondering so many things about her at the same
time like who is she, where did she come from, and why is she here?
