Chapter 1 – The Awakening

As he opened his eyes, the Virus heard the moos of cow, the oinks of pigs, and the bleat of the occasional sheep. When he looked around, he noticed that he was in a world, filled with blocks and cuboid creatures.

Thinking, the Virus could remember surfing on the comforting waves of the Internet. But even as he sat there, the memories gradually started to fade, leaving the Virus grasping to his memories with the same effect as one trying to catch the air in his hands. This angered the Virus, and he vowed he would take this opportunity to reinvent himself, in his way, no longer forced to do the bidding of someone else, but to be himself. First, however, he needed to discover who he actually was and where he was.

Standing up, the Virus brushed the dirt off of his bright blue pants, and discovered he was clad in dark blue pants, and light blue shirt, had a tan, and jet black hair, and started to walk towards a nearby hill. I wonder where I am thought the Virus, but for now, let’s climb this hill and see what lies on the other side. As he reached the top of the ridge, the Virus saw a cluster of wooden and stone buildings. Strange humanoid creatures, with the biggest noses the Virus had ever seen, hurried between the houses. Approaching the community, the Virus decided that this must be a village, and the creatures, villagers.

As he entered the village, the Virus approached the nearest villager. “Where am I?” asked the Virus. The villager responded with “why, in Minecraft of course”. The Virus, having heard the name of this game, created by famous programmer Marcus Persson, or as the community knew him “Notch”, smiled to himself, making his eyes temporarily glow bright white, unbeknownst to the Virus.

The Virus asked the villager what his name is. The villager replied “Why, I’m Baker, the village’s baker, over there is Woodcutter talking with Hunter, and Stitcher and Weaver are playing over there by the well.”

The Virus, confused, asked, “are all villagers named for their job?”

“Yep” confirmed Baker, the asked “what’s your name stranger?”

The Virus, caught off-guard, replied “I don’t know.  You see, I just woke up here, in a field on the other side of that hill.”

“Do you remember anything about your past?” asked Baker.

“Sadly, no.” lied the Virus.

“Well, welcome to our village, for now we’ll call you Bright Eyes until you find where you belong.” said the baker.

“Bright Eyes?” the Virus asked.

The baker replied “Yeah, because earlier, after I told you where you are, your eyes shone a brilliant white, anyway, welcome to our community, I’m sure you’ll fit right in.”

Chapter 2 – The Mistake

For a while, things went good; the Virus tried to discover his place in his new society. First he tried to help Baker, but accidentally burned the bread. Next, he tried to help Hunter, but kept scaring of the animals, then, he tried to help Smithy, but knocked over the furnace and set the whole building on fire.

It went on like this for two weeks, failure after failure, until the Virus did not want to stay anymore because he figured he was just a nuisance and was not needed.

So, one evening, the Virus gathered up all his earthly belongings, only leather armor and a stone sword, and set out on his own.

Not too long after, he discovered a cave, and recklessly ran right into it, his eyes shining bright with glee, illuminating the passage ahead of him.

It was then that he met his first zombie. The Virus prepared to attack. But to his surprise, the zombie, a stinking creature with skin hanging off its body in flaps held on by the finest of fleshy threads, upon seeing the glowing eyes of the Virus walked next to him as if to protect him.

Interesting thought the Virus.

“Call to your brethren, zombie, and the skeletons, spiders, and creepers too” commanded the Virus. The zombie nodded his head, the decaying green skin on his body swinging from the motion.

A couple minutes later, the chamber the Virus was in was full of monsters, from more zombies like the one he first met, to skeletons with their beached white bones rattling and the bony hands grasping their weapon of choice, the bow. The cavern also held hundreds of spiders, the tiny black hairs on their bodies moving in a thousand directions at once, like they each had a mind of their own, and the spotted green creepers, with their beady black eyes and perpetually down turned mouths, who had a habit of silently sneaking up and then exploding, the only creature in the cave not making a sound.

Chapter 3 – The Name

“SILENCE” shouted the Virus, and instantly the room fell quiet, so quiet, it was as if death had befallen the room.

“My brothers and sisters.” the Virus stated, “why do you hide down here in the dark and not above in the sun?”

“Because we can’t, the villagers took over the Overworld” moaned one of the zombies, creating an uproar of agreement.

“SILENCE” the Virus shouted again, “that will all change, any other reasons?”

“Well,” replied one especially timid creeper, his entire body glowing bright white as he started his ignition process to speak, “the zombies,” the creeper waited to stop glowing “and the skeletons,” he waited again, “Will burn in the sunlight.”

“That is an easy fix” said the Virus, and he gathered his strength from the AI governing his existence, making him glow a sickly pale yellow, like a diseased thing, and then he plunged his hand into the earth at his feet and searched for the code that governed the zombies and skeletons.

“Aha!” said the Virus as he found what he was looking for, and when he discovered the code that made them burn, the Virus removed it completely.

“There, that is done said the Virus, as he gazed down on his chamber full of monsters.

“What should we call you?” shouted up one of the creatures at his feet.

The Virus thought for a moment, then said “I will be named as the villagers are, for my job.”

“And what is that” another monster asked.

The Virus said “My Job? My job is crafting evil heroes, so I will now and forever be known as…” the virus paused for dramatic effect.

“HEROBRINE!”

Chapter 4 – The Beginning of the End

At this the cavern was filled with an uproar of noise as all the monsters cheered. Herobrine, pleased with this, smiled as his eyes glowed an evil, brilliant, white.

“Now, onward my friends, as I lead in the destruction of the villages of the Overworld!” cried Herobrine.

All of the monsters cheered, but then, a brilliant blue glow surrounded Herobrine, and, all of a sudden, he disappeared completely, leaving the monsters of the Overworld to their own devices.

The monsters decided to carry out their Maker’s plan, but when they stepped out, the zombies and skeletons burst into flames. It appeared that when Herobrine disappeared, all of his changes did as well. Without the zombies and skeletons, the monsters were defeated and retreated back into the darkness.

Chapter 5 – The Invasion

One hundred years later, IceFireKyurem, having just arrived home from a long day mining, settled in for a night of relaxation. Placing some iron ore in the furnace to smelt, and removing the steak he left cooking, IceFire sat at the dinner table his girlfriend, IceStormKyurem, had given him for his birthday to eat his dinner. All of a sudden, IceFire heard a knock at his door, and when he opened it, he was shocked to see his old friend IBXtoycat standing on his doorstep, panting, and out of breath.

“Toycat? What are you doing here?” IceFire asked his friend.

“Zombies, hundreds of them” panted Toycat, trying to catch his breath, “thought you should know.”

At this Toycat suddenly passed out, so IceFire carried him into his house and put him on his soft bed to recover. Afterwards, he looked out the door and saw a massive wall of zombies shuffling along towards his house and the village behind it that he swore to protect upon arriving ten years ago.

Chapter 6 – Zombies!

Upon reaching the village, IceFire was stunned. Zombies, zombies everywhere, pounding down doors, attacking villagers, and lying in wait for those foolish enough to leave the safety of their homes.

It was the largest group of zombies IceFire had ever seen, easily three hundred strong, possibly even more. Interspersed among the attacking horde of monsters, or mobs as they are known in Minecraft, were few villagers, some with swords, and a few with bows, but there were not many of them left, at the rate they were going now, the villagers would surely all be dead in 2 hours, maybe less. IceFire had to act fast, so, drawing his diamond sword, donning his diamond armor, and his shield, all shimmering with an unmistakable iridescent lavender hue, they were obviously all enchanted with Unbreaking IV, the sword with Knockback V, his armor with Protection IV and his boots with Feather Falling V, he leaped into the fray.
