I entered through the door and closed it shut behind me. “This is it,” I said to myself, walking up to a nearby pedestal, which had a cyan colored gemstone perched atop. This was no ordinary jewel, though. This gem was a Chaos Emerald. Although this was a Chaos Emerald, touching or holding it would trigger a transformation.

I can almost feel the Chaos Emerald’s power! I thought to myself, lifting the gem off of it’s pedestal. When I held the emerald in both hands, the cyan gem immediately began to glow, and when it faded, I felt a surge go through my entire body.

“That was strange, but interesting,” I said to myself. Without warning, my nose lengthened a few inches forward and turned black. I felt curious, so I walked over to a nearby mirror and looked at my reflection. Both my eyes joined together in the middle and curved downward, forming an arch near the bottom.

“This is amazing!” I said, noticing that my voice had slightly deepened a few octaves. I felt an itch beginning to develop near my neck, and I looked down. A tuft of white fur was forming near the base of my neck, which gave me an indication of what I was transforming into. I was becoming Silver the Hedgehog!

I looked back up just in time to see the front of my hair start turning white at the roots, followed by a five segmented crown of hair that had just lengthened from the roots of my hair! “This is just amazing!” I exclaimed, my voice now completely the same as Silver’s own voice. I felt myself beginning to shrink, my shirt becoming baggy during the process.

The rest of my hair was now reaching the final stages of color change, the tips of my hair fading from a normal shade of chestnut brown to a pure white. My eyes started glowing a warm amber color, becoming more ovoid in shape and appearance. My jacket had by now reached the floor, hanging slackly from my sides.

Without warning, I felt my feet lift up from the floor, and for a moment, I was taken completely by surprise at the sudden levitation. “Whoa! Whoa…I just need to…whoops!…get used to this,” I said to myself, struggling to get the hang of my newfound levitation ability. After a few times of nearly falling back down to the floor, I found my balance and gained stability in the air.

“This will take some getting used to,” I said quietly to myself. A thought occurred to me: If I could levitate myself into the air, then couldn’t I be able to levitate objects as well? With this thought in mind, I turned my gaze to a chair closest to me and focused on lifting the chair into the air, closing my eyes during this thought process.

When I heard a slight whoosh, I opened my eyes to see the swivel chair floating in the air right beside me! “This is pretty cool! I wonder what else I can do?” I wondered, but my transformation wasn’t finished just yet. I abruptly tumbled back down to the floor and the chair crashed down right along with me.

“Ooww…that hurts,” I groaned, rubbing my head as I slowly got to my feet. When the dull throbbing pain subsided, I went back over to the mirror and looked at myself. My hair was now lengthening on either side of my head, while my body continued to shrink down several inches in size and height. I felt uncomfortably hot in my jacket, so I let it fall off my shoulders.

My gloves began changing in appearance, as gold cuffs materialized on the wrists of them, while glowing neon cyan rings appeared on the palms of my gloves. My body finally stopped shrinking, causing my blue jeans to slip off my legs and fall down in a rumpled heap around my feet.

My shirt was the only bit of clothing that had not fallen off me, and I used my newfound powers to shrink the baggy t-shirt to fit my new size and height. “That’s much better,” I said happily, appreciating that my shirt was no longer hanging on one of my shoulders. My shoes had changed from their normal shape and appearance to match Silver’s own sneakers.

“I wonder where I should go from here? This new form will take some time getting used to, after all. One thing’s for sure, I absolutely cannot risk going anywhere looking like this. It’ll attract way too much attention,” I said to myself, looking at myself in the mirror.
