GiantClans

Here is a list of some of the GiantClans on Phoenix. It’s not all, or there are many more. These are just the ones I could fit on the page. You’ll be seeing more about the GiantClans in my books about the Giants of Phoenix. I’m not sure which is my favorite, but I’m leaning toward FireOpal, just because the stone is so cool as is the Kordoit stone. Search for those online and you’ll see some incredible Kordoit stones!

Be sure to watch for Theft of the Giants’ Soul, my next book. I’ll be posting individual chapters for FREE on my website. Sign up for the mailing list to get access.

Giants in the AgaroniteClan are adventurers. They explore the lands the have been forgotten by the giants, to see what new animals or stone or minerals can be found. Finding the unknown and making it known is their greatest joy, but they only explore on land. Giants of the AgaroniteClan hate the water and many cannot swim, so they’ll never go on a seafaring adventure.

The AmberQuartzClan is filled with thinkers, which is the case with most Quartz-type clans, but the amber color denotes giants who are optimistic and see great hope in the future of the GiantNation. Many criticize the giants of this clan, because they cannot anticipate what those with evil designs might do. AmberQuartzGiants accept this criticism, for the intellectual side of them must accept it as possible, but the optimistic side sees this as one of their strengths.

The AmethystClan is where many leaders of the GiantNation come from. Giants of this clan are strong and confident, and not afraid of challenges, but the quartz-like nature of their clan’s stone suggests they are also intellectuals. Frequently, the leader of the GiantNation, called the Colossus, will be of the AmethystClan. It is something the rest of the clans have come to accept, for many of the greatest leaders in GiantHistory have come from Amethyst.

The BirdsEyeRhyoliteClan are a unique collection of giants. They are an optimistic group, as the yellow in their stone would suggest, but the white in their stone suggests they are also the seekers of truth. The brown in the stone represents the stubbornness of the giants in this clan. Many of the BirdseyeRhyoliteGiants have worked for the law, working to represent those who have strayed from The Way, representing them in GiantCourt.

BlackTourmaline giants tend to be very secretive. They are light on their feet, which is unusual for giants, and are able to move quietly when necessary. These giants tend to gravitate to the GiantScout corps, and have ranged all across Phoenix. They have spied on the other races, even the scavengers, and are the best keepers of secrets.

BloodStone giants are the kind of giants you want on your side. The are stealthy like the BlackTourmaline giants, but are also aggressive and unwilling to back down. They thirst for battle and love sneaking up on their adversary, surprising them right before they swing their warhammers.

Giants of the BlueGreenOnyx clan are healers. They will interact with dryads, who make fantastic potions, and will use those potions or healing devices crafted by humans if it will help ease someone’s suffering. A giant from this clan will offer aid to anyone, even wounded animals, for they cannot help themselves. Being part of the BlueGreenOnyx clan means you help everyone.

BlueKyanite giants are intellectuals and seekers of knowledge. They will sometimes sit and think for hours about a problem, remaining completely stationary until they solve the problem in their mind. These giants are thinkers, not doers. They do not build, or craft, or create tangible things. All they create is ideas.

Carnelian giants are very optimistic and can see the good in other giants from different clans, but are extremely stubborn. When they form an opinion about another giant, they tend to stick to that opinion even if proven they’re wrong. Giants from the Carnelian clan make stout allies and will always come to your aid.

Giants from the Emerald clan are the most skilled of healers. These giants take on the most difficult of medical cases, and seem to have a deep understand of the giant body. It is almost as if an Emerald giant can see inside the body of their patient, whether it is a giant, or human, or dryad. If you’re wounded in battle, you want an Emerald giant treating your wounds.

Giants of the FireOpal clan tend to be part of the leadership of the GiantNation. They are the bringers of unusual, bright ideas that seem to come out of nowhere, but they are also extremely aggressive. They are quick to fight and are a vicious enemies, but do not fight out of a thirst for violence; the FireOpal giants fight for the good of the clan and for the good of Phoenix.

The Fluorite clan is filled with giants who are extremely confident and are risk takers. Many of the generals in the GiantLegion are of the Fluorite clan because of these traits. They are thoughtful giants and are seekers of knowledge, especially history. Fluorite giants will know how battles were fought in the past going all the way back to the War of the Races. There is always a Fluorite giant sitting on the GiantCouncil, advising the Colossus.

Master chefs and baker extraordinaire will be found in the Koroit GiantClan. They weigh out ingredients with accuracy beyond that of the healers who make potions. But more important is the artistic manner in which they mix flavors like at artist mixing colors on a palette, only instead of using canvas, they create their masterpieces on the tongue of those who consume their creations.

Giants of the Labradorite clan are artisans. These giants paint, sculpt, carve and weave  ordinary objects into incredible works of art. The giants of the Labradorite clan carved the great hexagonal columns making up the Giant’s Causeway as well as the famous doors to the GreatHall. Their artistic skill exceeds that of every other GiantClan.

Members of the Lepidolite GiantClan have a strong sense of duty to StoneHold and to Phoenix. Many Lepidolite giants serve in the GiantLegion, dedicating their lives to the protection of the GiantNation and the inhabitants of StoneHold. They never surrender and will fight to the last even if completely outnumbered. Though they aren’t the smartest of giants, they are the loyal to a fault and know how to follow orders.

Giants in the ObsidianClan are the judges. They decide who is following The Way and who has forgotten the names of their fathers. They are historians, knowing what has happened in the GiantNation through time, so that they may learn the lessons of the past and avoid past mistakes in their roles as judges. Everyone respects a giant of the ObsidianClan

Giants from the Opal Clan are a mixture of personalities. They are at times very aggressive while at other times conservative. At one moment, they might be seekers of knowledge, while at the next, they ignore lessons from the past and just charge ahead, choosing their own path. Their stone is filled with many colors as they themselves are filled with many different personality traits. It is very hard to predict what an OpalGiant will do.

PurpleOnyx giants have two types of personalities. The Purple in their stone suggests they are strong and confident, never afraid of a fight, but the Onyx in their stone indicates they are very sneaky and secretive. PurpleOnyx giants might gather in secret to share knowledge about giants in other clans, using this knowledge to the advantage of their own clan. They are strongly dedicated to the GiantNation, but a PurpleOnyx giant always comes first in their eyes.

Giants in the QuartzClan are the philosophers. They seek knowledge, but not from books, from within. Though they are strong fighters, as all giants must be, QuartzClan giants are also thinkers. They contemplate what is right or wrong or just. These giants are voracious readers, consuming every book possible, so they can process the information in their mighty brains. Many work as teachers of adults as well as youths.

Giants in the RedJasper Clan are excellent fighters, but very strategic. They are excellent planners and know when it is best to fight and best to retreat, but are very conservative. They won’t commit to battle unless victory is assured. As a result, they make poor generals, but make excellent foot soldiers. Many giants know, you cannot rely upon a RedJasper giant.

SnowflakeObsidian giants a combinations of opposites. They are highly aggressive when it comes to battle, but are also conservative when it comes to deciding whether to fight or now.  These giants make staunch friends, but are quick to argue. SnowflakeObsidian giants are hard to predict, but you want then next to you in battle.

Giants in the Sodalite clan are very knowledgeable about the history of the GiantNation and what transpired during the LongNight, but are quick to ignore the lessons of history. They form their own ideas, sometimes based on past knowledge and sometimes based on emotion. They are difficult to predict, but at times generate great ideas. They are mighty fighters and always fight on the side of truth and justice.

Giants in the TreeAgate Clan are brave and curious. They seek knowledge when they can and even venture into dangerous parts of Phoenix to find that knowledge, unafraid, for they never show fear. TreeAgate giants stand their ground when challenged but are wise in the ways of battle and know when to step aside when it is for the good of the Clan or for the good of Phoenix.

The TruthStone is an important piece of GiantSociety, and is the most treasured of artifacts in StoneHold. This ancient stone allows giants to commune with their ancestors in the Chamber of the Fathers. It is a precious item that brings a sense of peace. It’s part of every giant’s soul.
